I'm sorry, but suggesting that there is no current accepted legal definition of "man" or "woman" (and I'm only admitting my lack of definitive knowledge as to the existance of such) does not mean that we can't develop one. It may very well turn out that true hermaphrodites may find themselves unable to marry. That would be unfortunate since they didn't do anything to cause this condition, but it might be necessary to word it that way.

You'd be surprised how some folks are willing to subvert the accepted definitions of common words to advance subversive and perverted behaviors. Truly shameful, it is!

"are you kidding me? democrats.com is calling you . . ."

I don't understand your point. Did you look at the link? It doesn't have anything to do with partisan politics.

"Not until you defend your position for refusing to allow the people to speak via the ballot."

Also, please refrain from putting words in my mouth. I have no such position. On the other hand, I do object to my taxes being used to process any petition that any agrieved bunch of citizens might come up with.

You're wrong on this to a degree. Western Civilization is partially based on Ancient Roman Civilization. Which was very pro-homosexual. For example, on how Western Civilization is partially based on Ancient Roman Civilization, the T-Shirt is basically a modern day version of the Ancient Roman Tunic.

Tell you what, get yourself a copy of Justinian's Codex of Roman Law (or the one by Constantine or Theodosius for that matter) and find me a law that allowed homosexuals to marry. The Romans were hardly 'pro-homosexual' particularly during the Republic. That some Romans descended into the pit of debauchery during the Empire should be a cautionary example to us today. Unless you consider folks like Caligula, Hadrian, and Elagabalus to be models of virtue...

"That's because the Bible (in Hebrew and in the original Greek translations) condemns murder, the killing of an innocent."

Actually, the earliest versions condemned only murder of your fellow tribesmen. Anybody else was fair game.

In any case, innocents get killed in wars. Sentiments to the contrary are put on hold shortly after the first shot is fired.

Not necessarily "models of virtue," but examples to be emulated.

This may seem like splitting hairs, but wartime casualties are not, in the strictest sense, "murders." Murder is the premeditated killing of another human being, outside the melee of war.

And do you wretch at people in wheel chairs? Or at dwarves? Or at people with congenital deformities?

If not, then why do you single out the ISNA link?

Sorry guys -- I gotta go. Nice crossing swords with you!

Actually, when I post that, I had Socrates, Plato and a couple of other Ancient Roman and Greek Philosophers in mind.

I only laughed at the drunken dwarf on Stern. I'm not alone in that.

This is more of that "God put me in the wrong body" crap. God doesn't make mistakes. Everyone is in the body they are supposed to be. I think this organization is full of hooey.

In the words of Apu Nahasapeemapetilon: "Thank you, come again.'

"I'm sorry. I misunderstood your ORIGINAL post."

Atta boy.
The people participating in this discussion are for the most part, extremely fair & honest in their handling of this & any other social issue.

When you've been around long enough you'll come to realize putting this or any other issue on a ballot for people to decide would be encouraged by one & all.
It's truely the evil ones with a hidden agenda who're trying to roadblock this thing because they know damned well the outcome: IF ordinary people are permitted to decide via a legitimate vote it's doomed.

Live & learn.
