I remember hearing this once, and ony once, since that fateful day. The beloved police/fire chaplain that was killed in the towers was hit by a jumper. Has anyone else heard that?

Yes, the chaplain was the first rescuer casualty that day. He was performing last rites for a WTC victim when a jumper landed on him. If I remember correctly, his death certificate is number 1 for this horrible event.

The beloved police/fire chaplain that was killed in the towers was hit by a jumper.Yes, I've heard that from a couple of sources. It's just not PC, so the media wants us to think that he was struck by falling debris.

yes, that is true about Father Michal Judge. He was giving the last rites to someone, when a jumper fell on him.

Yes, I did hear that some people on the ground were killed when they were hit by the jumpers. I recently talked to someone who lost a relative who was hit by a jumper.

Yes I heard the same report, but then later I heard that the chaplain I died of a heart attack, I think. Really do not know which is factual.

I heard that the Chaplain was hit and killed by a jumper on a television news show, so you aren't just imagining you heard this. I thought at the time how horrifying that was.

The beloved police/fire chaplain that was killed in the towers was hit by a jumper. Has anyone else heard that? According to an article in the Mens Journal the following is what happened. "Father Judge was standing beneath Tower Two. In the smokey sky, a woman was plumeting from the top floors hurtling to her death. Her long free fall ended when she crashed into an unidentified fireman who was working nearby. Father Judge hastened over to the man. His life was ebbing. When Judge removed his own helmet to perform last rites, he was pelted by a rain of debris." "Later in the day, fireman pulled him from the rubble, his slumped body coated in a fine gray talc. They carried him to Saint Peter's, the oldes Roman Catholic Church in Manhattan, and laid him on th alter. Then they shrouded him in a white sheet and placed his helmet on his chest. Father Judge was the first recorded fatality in the Twin Towers tragedy. Literally, his death certificate was stamped "1". "
Father Mycal Judge was a legend in New York. He was well known for placing himself in situations where he was needed the most; despite the danger. He was a hero in every sense of the word.

Yes, I heard that as well. The Chaplain was giving last rites to the firefighters going in and a body slammed him and that is how he got killed.

My husband knows someone who saw a jumper kill a fireman when they landed. This may have happened more than once though...

Yes, I heard Mike Barnicle on MSNBC say the chaplain was hit by a falling body that killed him. That is the first and only time I've heard that on TV. But he is credible and I heard him say it myself.

There has been a great deal of myth surrounding his death, but (I believe) the general conclusion was that he was hit in the head by debris.
To: WIladyconservative
