How big is this bomb?
I read in a previous post that is is quite large and
wouldn't it pose a burden to manufacter and transport to a location
that the terrorists want to target?
More information on manufacturing process/transportation,
detonation and factoring in all of these what would be most feasiable
locations to target?
To: dbbeebs
Please explain that.

"look at post #131" I did. I made a lot of money making radiation hardened chips for the military.

The bomb will be in the Heartland. This is what they said ,isn't it? Yes, I believe that is what they said. What WHO said? Where is this information coming from?
To: P8riot
"Then we have absolutely nothing to worry about then, do we?" I wasn't trying to poo poo your input sorry, I just think it is a low (Very low) probability and some precautions have already been taken. That's all.

One thing i have learned in my (long) life of 27 years is that you can never have too much knowledge and/or you can never be TOO prepared.
To accomplish either of these you must weigh all possibilities, no matter how remote. I would rather have all of this knowledge(some good some bad) then to have not had this thread at all.
I hate to say it but if a bomb such as this dirty one comes along neither you nor I can predict what will happen.
Last time I checked an extensive study has not been performed on such a scenario.
To: Vauss
>Sorry, this is so absurd it is pitiful.
Well Vauss, I truly hope that if this bomb threat is real and this dirty bomb is destined to go off in America, that it goes off just outside your door and stays far away from less obnoxious people, specifically me.
Incidentally, would you mind pointing me to exactly what I said in this thread that you responded to here?

I'm not familiar with the term, UAV. I take it that this device can detect radioactivity rather well.
UAV: Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. That's those "drones" you keep hearing about. They usually have a high-definition video camera for real-time and later intelligence gathering. I've read of them being equipped with infra-red (IR) cameras to detect vehicle and personnel movements at night. I think they even hung a bomb off of one in Afghanistan. Although I've never read of them hanging radiation detectors from them, I don't see why they couldn't.

I'd expect a dirty bomb in LA or Dallas. Maybe somewhere in AZ. All close to Mexico border. Since I live in Dallas, it makes my knees weak thinking about it. I think people should pay very close attention to what their local Muslim community is up to. If suddenly the Muslims start leaving town, it would be a good idea to follow them out.

That was my reaction. This is the second thread about some "mention," on Fox News channel, of some "dirty nuke" or "dirty bomb" coming in through Mexico. Links to credible information are nonexistent. It's great hysteria. Fox News channel must be desperate to increase ratings by making these half-baked allusions and then not backing them up. They should be ashamed of themselves.

No offense taken, and none meant. It is not so much the military targets these jokers are after, it is everyday Americans like you and me. We do not have the hardened capabilities of the military, and thus the effect of this on our infrastructure would be much greater, they could put us back to the Afghanistan age.

We are in the deterrent phase of Saddam's campaign. My prediction is, no major atrocities until or unless we attack Saddam. He's already had his revenge for the Gulf War, on 9/11. The sleepers are here to deter us from attacking Saddam, and for no other reason, IMO. I do expect them to keep jerking are chain, however.

. Sean said that FNC was reporting that the threat was a dirty bomb. The problem is where? When? How? It would be nice if our government would give us some idea where they think these attacks will occur, many lives could be saved if they would allow us to know things and we could evacuate, at least get our kids out.

"I knew it by 11AM on September 11th. This thing is going to get huge. Let's just hope we move big when we have to and end it fast, before too many of us are hurt." We should have rounded up all Middle Easterners and deported them Sept. 12, 2001. If a dirty bomb of any kind goes off or if there is any other terrorist attack then we'd be fools not to nuke Afghanistan, Iraq, maybe Sudan, Iran, Syria, Indonesia, etc.
