Thanks for posting the article. It's a welcome relief from the doom-and-gloom, pessimistic, naysayer, worst-case-scenario, glass-half-empty hype we've been reading lately.

Great article! George W. proves to be a great leader as well as a moral leader to all Americans. Makes me love him even more than before. Proud to be an American and blessed to have George W. as my president.

Thank you, John. I have about had it up to the eyeballs with the second guessers, armchair generals, democrat snipers, whiners, and general malcontents. I needed to read something a bit positive this morning, and I am glad to see this is in USA Today.

Many thanks!

When I saw the headline and that it was from USA Today, I was expecting more of that idiotic crap the media has been giving us that Bush has suddenly matured and grown as a leader ("in the nick of time" as one journalist said recently). But this is a good piece and presents a very real face of our president. Reading it gave me even more confidence in his leadership.

If Alpha Gore were in, we could have a different Al every day. "Thank God" for this not happening.

Bush has told advisers that he believes confronting this enemy is a chance for him and his fellow baby boomers to refocus their lives and prove they have the same kind of valor and commitment their fathers showed in World War II.

God save us from Baby Boomers with something to prove. Notice how the 'Boomers only want to prove their valor and commitment once they are too old to actually go die in some foreign mud?

GOOD MORNIN' EVERYONE. Beautiful day in central Texas.

Thank you JH2 for posting this article. Roomey has commented about our President's hair being a little grayer. He seems much stronger, when listening to his speeches at 0300 on CSPAN, also pretty serious. I am so glad he is our President.

MM we listen to shortwave radio for some of our news, the news is quite different than the daily presstitute blathering. The announcers speak naturally, in a normal cadence, no shrieking, no stumblling over words, nothing cutesy, no inuendos, in fact they use only 1,300 words to parcel the news. If you have a chance, please listen to them.

The terrorist attacks that reshaped his presidency also changed George W. Bush forever.

The events changed all of us. But what many will fail to realize is that, although the President has changed, the substance of the man was there from the beginning. A strong leader is not born overnight. What this proves is that, when tested, he was equal to the task.

I am glad GWB is in the White House.

I would be happier still if he'd visit Virginia and New Jersey before Election Day.

God save us from Baby Boomers with something to prove.

You just insulted a good number of FReepers and other boomers who GREW UP, unlike the clintbilly crowd.

Now, go to your room, young man!

;-)

Great read, John!

Hey STS! Stuff it, buddy. I am a baby boomer, still serving in the USAF, and ready to go when ever. God save us from bed-wetters like you!

I'm pleased to see a positive article in USA Today. All Americans were awakened on 11 September. We have a tragic new benchmark in our lives, our outlook changed and the President is no different from the rest of us in that regard. However, President Bush had the responsibility of developing a winning stategy then leading Americans and the world in this terrible challenge. He acccepted that burden with grace, determination and resolve. In other words, character. Yes, USA Today, it is character and character counts.

Thanks for the post, like others have stated, it is a tonic for all of the negative press this week-end. How reassuring to see President Bush turning to God's word for strength. There are difficult days ahead for him as the public's desire for a quick fix is not satisfied. This is not a sit-com or a two hour TV special...we are at war and war takes time...this one may take a long time...

To the poster about 'boomers ...don't take a second hand report of an off handed remark so seriously my friend.

Wow. That's a wonderful article, thanks for sharing it!

There is something very exciting about seeing a message like this going out to the nation of what a vital relationship with Christ looks like.

Wow.
