Many people have died on this diet, as you might be aware already. My advice, eat the same foods you always do, just less. It works, I know, I lost 135lbs doing that in 1986 and it is still off!

Who has died eating this way? Who? Name one.
I've been doing this for four years. I'm not dead yet. I also still have my kidneys, liver and all the other internal organs I'm suppposed to have. What I don't have is 120 extra pounds, diabetes or high cholesterol.
My way of eating is not for everyone, but neither is the extremely high-carb diet that's been pushed on Americans for the last 20 years (causing an epidemic of Type II diabetes).
I just love the American Diabetic Association - it recommends a diet of 60% carbohydrates, or 60% of calories from sugar. Just what's needed when your body can't metabolize sugar anymore.

Oh please. I hope you can cite definitive proof of the oh so many people you claim have died while on the Atkins, or any low carb, diet. If not, then stop making unfounded claims.
I've been on eating low carb for a year and a half, and know other people who've been doing so for many years longer than that. And all of us show a remarkable increase in the quality of our health, not to mention weight loss, as a result of our chosen way of eating. I know of a woman who had kidney damage prior to beginning a low carb way of eating - since beginning low carb, her tested kidney function has improved to within normal levels. All my bloodwork, including cholesterol and triglycerides, comes back in the normal range, I've lost 75 pounds, my PMS has literally disappeared, I no longer have digestive problems, I no longer have uncontrollable food cravings. Shawv, go ahead and begin the Atkins diet with no fears. You'll be glad you did.

Many people have died on this diet, as you might be aware already. "On it" is not the same as "because of it."
People die every day.

Many people have died on this diet, as you might be aware already. Sorry, but that's flat assed wrong. You need to back that statement up, if you can't back it up you need to apologize. You are terribly uninformed about the Atkins Diet...I'd bet a weeks pay that you never bothered to read his books.
