AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 279) [Remember the Trade Center!!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | October 26, 2001 | All of Us

Posted on 10/26/2001 4:29:08 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

Good Morning!!

Do not let them die in vain!!

There a lot of stuff to get everyone up to speed this morning, so I'm breaking the opening rant into sections.

ANTHRAX ATTACK

Another confirmed case of pneumonic anthrax - the postal worker in Sterling, VA, is diagnosed with the malady.

Anthrax has been found at the CIA, though termed "medically insignificant".

Anthrax has been found at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research.

Anthrax has been found in a mail sorting facility in Manhattan.

Another possibly tainted envelope was reported at the New York Post, though it is likely "collateral mail".

Several suburban mail facilities in Washington, DC, are undergoing tests for anthrax.

Over 10,000 mail workers are on antibiotics.

CDC has changed policy regarding treatment of anthrax: exposed people should get 60 days of antibiotics, not the current 10 they are receiving. Pneumonic victims to receive multiple antibiotics - Cipro and at least two others.

SOUTH ASIA THEATER OF OPERATIONS

US warplanes and Northern Alliance troops step up attacks around Mazer-e-Sharif, though it is uncertain when the city will be captured.

Northern Alliance would like the United States to step up its attacks. The United States bombs Kabul and Kandahar.

Two American fighter aircraft narrowly missed a SAM shot.

There is growing criticism the United States is conducting the war too slowly.

Uzbekistan agreed to open some of its river ports to allow relief supplies to go to Afgoneistan.

HOME FRONT

The last President was mailed salmonella.

The Senate overwhelmingly (98-1) approves anti-terrorism legislation. The President to sign it today.

Groups have appealed to Tom Ridge to fortify the Nation's nuclear reactors.

A $1.4 billion package for emergency preparedness has been introduced in the Senate.

The UNITED WE STAND postage stamp will be available November 1 in Post Offices in Washington, DC, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

OTHER ITEMS

I learned this morning that another worker in my building - someone whom I've known almost since the first day I worked here, 14 years ago now - had her mother pass yesterday. I would ask for your prayers for her.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Good afternoon! I'm an aunt again. My sister-in-law just had her baby this morning. Jacob weighs 9 lbs 9 oz, 20 inches long, blonde hair, blue eyes, exact duplicate of his older brother and sister. His older brother said "Jacob's here! Now there is only a little girl left." He is only is three.

I won't be able to see them until Sunday. My weekend is fully booked. They live two hours away, or I'd have been there in a flash. I just love new life coming into the world.

The House's plan will accelerate tax relief, and will expand productive investment. Reforms corporate tax code. These changes will persuade many companies to reinvest in America. Tax relief is an essential step.

We need an ENERGY PLAN which has passed the House. It awaits a vote in the SENATE. We need to be more self-reliant. It is in our nation's interest to have more sources at home. National interest and I URGE THE SENATE YO PASS IT!!!

I need trade promotion authority to expand th ejob base in this great nation. I need it now. It is in the best interest of the nation.

Our enemies fear modernization and open trade. They fear people thinking for themselves. They fear education of their sons AND DAUGHTERS. Our enemies fear open societies.

This is a time of incredible promise for America. The character of our country hasn't changed from the Depression and WWII. They didn't understand our nation, our resolve, our patience, our will to win. We will plant the flag of freedom in our nation and around the world. What we do today will determine whether our children and grandchildren live in the world we knew. We will not fail.

Thanks and God bless you.

Thanks for posting the updates on President Bush's statements. Did he mention anything about judicial nominations? I hope the press listened to his statements, their latest point is that the administration is taking too long to win the war on terrorism. Let's see, it has only been 46 days since the terrorist bombings. Stupid press.

I would say Tom Daschle was put on notice in that if he doesn't get the Senate moving there will be more words from the White House. Ha!

That will teach Daschle to smart mouth the President at a meeting. No judgeships? Then they have time to pass those other items LIKE THE ENERGY BILL AND TAX RELIEF!!

I didn't type them all, but he must have said "I urge the Senate to pass it" or "as soon as it gets out of the Senate" or "if the Senate will aact" about ten times in a row. Daschle cannot have missed that message!!

Thank you! I am a quick typist, although I do not do touch typing. I turned the TV up real loud and did the best I could. I did leave out the quote from Franklin Roosevelt, as the dog started barking and I couldn't hear.

Maybe I should have typed "WOOF! WOOF!" in the middle!! LOL!

I am now leaving for errrands, which I delayed due to thinking Rumsfeld would be on. All to the best, since I got to hear this speech with its most excellent shot across the bow at Daschle. Ha!

Back this evening!

Regarding Bernadette Healy.......I was curious about that too!!!

Excuse the French, but she sure seemed ...PO'd....about something!!

All I can think of is O'Reilly holding her feet to the fire over the huge amount of donations that's NOT getting to the folks????
...and I say...Good for O'Reilly!

...anyway, it sure seems abrupt!
...somethings coming down there, you can bet on it!

Yo Molly...hehe

The last movie we went to see was...Oh Brother Where Art Thou. I was pleasantly surprised by that one. But we never went to see The Others. My sweeties job sort of got in the way.

We took my 3 year old nephew to the Southeast Texas State Fair. It was a hoot.

Utah Girl...Congradulations Auntie! Great news. Now you get to spoil him.

Two American fighter aircraft narrowly missed a SAM shot.

I saw that set of video. The white object looked like it was tumbling (could have been rotating), but regardless, it looked much closer as it had sharper edges. If it was at the same range as the planes it was darn huge.
