Me thinks that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

It's a red herring. The key, course, is not whether the anthrax is bio-engineered, but how it is processed for delivery. The stuff in Daschle's office had to be processed to a very fine degree, which points to the involvement of a government, which in turn means a nuclear attack on Iraq's weapons facilities is due about now. Since the government finds that prospect unpalatable (or is, at least, not yet ready to embark on such a course), it is throwing up every red herring it can find to change the subject.

It's just a question of which way one wants to spin it. On the one hand, the anthrax has not been genetically altered so as to make it resistant to antibiotics. On the other hand, the anthrax was processed in such a way as to change its electro-static qualities so as to make it more likely to become airborne. It is obviously quite lethal when inhaled.

I once had an idea for a gizmo you could keep on your desk. You'd spin a dial and it would tell you the current conventional wisdom on coffee, salt, eggs, alcohol, and the like. It seems like every other study says X is bad for you, and the other studies say X is good for you.

Flip a coin, as someone said. Today, the anthrax is garden variety. But come midnight, it will revert to its 'weaponized' form. Perhaps it shares genes with the pumpkin from Cinderella.

Its from the right wing.........ooops no......from the left.....an Antrax-a-Bomber.....noooo wait....Iraq....Atta had it in Florida...got it in Prague.....no waitttt.....its weapons grade.....noooo wrong its cow pasture grade....Got in Nevada.....oops wrong call...well maybe.....no it isn't..

TIME F*C*ING OUT!!!!

The only facts we know are:

1. A lot of people are getting it.

2. Nobody got it before 9-11.

3. The first place that got it was 1/2 mile from the Oasis at Delray Beach.

4. 2nd place that it eminated from was Trenton NJ.

OK...these 4 clues definitely should stem off some avenues of investigation and lead one to focus on the more promising ones. Why doesn't this appear to be happening, and if it is, WHY NOT TELL US EVERYTHING NOW!!!!

If this is what we are going to get from our Bureau of Homeland defense, let's nip it in the bud before we pour more money down that drain.

That was my initial thought. However, I believe the authorities are talking about two different things. The anthrax itself is nothing but ordinary anthrax found in nature. But, it has been REFINED with other substances to cause it to disburse readily in the air and stay airborn at the slightest breath or movement.

I originally heard that the anthrax could not be considered a weapon because the spores were randomly sized, not all small enough to be air borne. Ritter said that weaponized anthrax would be uniformly sized and much more deadly.

they won't, not while they can use the 'panic card' to pass laws to squash freedom.

I'm so sick of this damned merry-go-round of lies. One day it's highly potent, the next day it's the work of amateurs...then it's weaponized, then it's not weaponized it's just real little...sheesh.

How about the simple truth! The hacks at the CDC have spent so much valuable time, talent and treasure studying gun violence as a disease that they have NO EXPERTISE in the real diseases that are threatening our society. These guys are clowns, hacks and stooges. The CDC has NO credibility anymore.

There appear to be two separate categories to consider about anthrax. One: if it was bioengineered to resist anibiotics. and Two: if it was finely ground and infused with a carrying agent that allows it to hang in the air and be the right size to penetrate the deepest parts of the lung and develop into toxin releasing bacteria. It seems that the anthrax encountered fits the latter category, but thankfully, does not seem to have been produced by a lab able to use recombinant DNA technology to improve its resistance to antibiotics. I think the CDC has real fear of that possibility and its spokespeople seem relieved to report that the spores do not possess that capability. Hope this makes some sense.

You're confusing two different things. You can have regular barnyard anthrax that is processed to easily disperse in the air. This is said to be weaponized. You could have a genetically-engineered anthrax that is resistant to antibiotic but not be weaponized for easy dispersal in the air. Call the processing and anti-static coating A. Call the genetically-engineered B. You could then have A/B, A/notB, notA/B, notA/notB. A/B would be the deadliest because it could easily disperse and resist antibiotics. notA/notB would be the least deadly because it wouldn't easily disperse and it isn't resistant to antibiotics.
