I say, lets ROCK and lets roll....start using nukes on these 500m-1000m deep caves.

I'm with you, Steve Buyer. Brute force is the only language those people understand. Time to show them we mean business.

I would rather congress start kicking arabs out of the country. When they do this then I will be ready to discuss nukes. Untill then it is just another issue for them to blow smoke about. They are not serious about protecting the american people yet.

To me, it's not out of the realm of possibilities.
From the Presidents address to Congress...
"We will direct every resource at our command -- every means of diplomacy, every tool of intelligence, every instrument of law enforcement, every financial influence, and every necessary weapon of war -- to the destruction and to the defeat of the global terror network."

The situation calls for so-called clean 'neutron' weapons which kill with neutron radiation of a very short half-life but cause substantially less conventional damage. Use those on the famous 20-mile-square box and binladen's remains can safely be recovered.

A bit OT: I'm very concerned that the numerous swarthy suspects we've detained so far in the U.S., at least some of whom I'm sure are guilty as hell, may in time be released, as we're still following rather too closely western laws of jurisprudence in wartime, plus they have attorneys, etc...
If eventual release indeed occurs, I think, a la Mossad or Shin Beth, we (i.e., the gov't) may have to, untraceably, whack 'em, or at least the smelliest ones. If we're contemplating nukes, i.e., the macro, can we afford to overlook this, the micro? Am I nuts? Any opinions?
As I'm a relatively new FReeper, I apologize if I should've posted this on a different thread, but I couldn't find a more appropriate one off the bat...

The main reason why the Democrat party exists, despite their obsolete ideas, is the stupidity of belligerent Republicans. People vote for Democrats not for the ideas but because they're voting "not Republican".

I wish somebody would contact Buyer and tell him we don't have any NUCULAR weapons in our arsenal. I find it hard to believe that anybody in public life, with a staff of presumably knowledgeable people to advise them on all sorts of topics, can go on national networks and say "nucular." But lots of them do.
To: DCBryan1
One could make the case that since this in an unconventional war with an unconventional enemy that uses unconventional weapons that our response should be unconventional also.

Anyone who supports the use of nukes in this situation is a fool. They obviously have no knowledge of the effects nor take into consideration the backlash that would be used by such action.
Pick your seat carefully....

I agree. This would be an opportunity to test our nuetron bomb and its wartime capability.
Give the hacks an ultimatum.
Give up Bin Laden
Cease the anthrax distribution
Clean every spore of anthrax in this country by 5pm
or be inihilated PERIOD no discussion no negotiation.

I agree, whoever used the Anthrax on the US should be shown that we will strike back with nuclear retaliation.

Sure wish some of these jerk-offs would be willing to discuss openly the Constitution....or even follow it....or listen to their betters (the Founding Fathers).

I support the general principle of using nukes in our defense but I wonder about the military practicality of it. Do we have bunker buster nukes? Maybe our conventional bunker busters are more effective than a nuke that's not designed for this purpose. Another example would be the taliban forces north of Kabul. We want to take them out, but not the northern alliance. A nuke couldn't be used in this case. One military use we could use nukes for could be to carpet bomb the entire mountain range in northeast Afghanistan with nukes. This would effectively end the use of those mountains as hideouts. In terms of practical military use, nukes aren't well designed for the objectives we want to achieve.
