Are you looking at post #49 ?
It is there.

Andrew Sullivan has been the only journalist writing about this that I have seen. Excellent analysis.
as
Read what is posted today and in last weeks archive.
We have a moral imperative to nuke these guys.
To: DCBryan1
Anyone who supports the use of nukes in this situation is a fool. They obviously have no knowledge of the effects nor take into consideration the backlash that would be used by such action.
Pick your seat carefully....
To: MassExodus
Now I see it. I must have mishit the Refresh button before. Maybe, it is the early onset of Antrax. I live in Boca Raton, doncha know?
To: dixierat22
I have a pretty good understanding of nukes and their effects.
Hundreds of nuclear weapons have been exploded above ground and yet we are still here.
Perhaps W is a fool for sending tactical nuclear weapons into the theater? Why do you think we sent them there if we don't have the potential to use them?
To: DCBryan1
I agree. This would be an opportunity to test our nuetron bomb and its wartime capability.
Give the hacks an ultimatum.
Give up Bin Laden
Cease the anthrax distribution
Clean every spore of anthrax in this country by 5pm
or be inihilated PERIOD no discussion no negotiation.

I understand what you say completely but, For every action there is an equal (or Greater) reaction. Whoever is responsible Whether it's Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq it doesn't matter, we can & should Nuke their @ss! We'll deal with their Terrorist Cells as well unit by unit, terrorist by terrorist. We have to make sure that a price is paid for attacking the U.S. period!
To: dixierat22
Oh, and PS:
nor take into consideration the backlash that would be used by such action. Umm, you are worried perhaps that maybe people in the Middle East may dislike us and then kill thousands of Americans and then send us anthrax in the mail?
Perhaps you should bone up on current events.
The BAD GUYS need to be afraid of what WE will do to them when they decide to use WMD, not the other way around.
To: Moridin
Allah was only a figment of Muhammad's imagination. Well said.
To: blaster88
I know that we will survive their use, I'm thinking as much of the moral and long term political consequences. It is not necessary to nuke anyone over the use of biological or chemical weapons. Potentially, large numbers of innocent people could or would be killed or subjected to radiation poisoning. Do you want that on our collective concious? Is revenge the only motivation we need for using nukes?
Here we have an elected member of the US government calling for the use of nukes in an undeclared war! Doesn't that make you think that maybe that individual is a little off?
To: blaster88
It's not some terrorist hiding in a cave I'm concerned with. It's the rest of the world. You have heard of the Chinese, Russians, and some of the other nuclear powers. These people could take offense to us using even small tactical nukes on a defenseless population. Would they take action? Do you really want top find out?
To: Terry Mross
The point is we should use nukes IF it's traced to these terrorists. Nobody has said use nukes if it's greenpeace. OK, we'll fix that.
If it's greenpest, or creeppeace, or whatever they call themselves, nuke'em! That will solve two problems at once, eliminating terrorists and elminating a social pollutant.

I agree, whoever used the Anthrax on the US should be shown that we will strike back with nuclear retaliation.
To: blaster88
Thanks for the link. Sullivan's been shaking the Salon crowd.
We had the moral imperative 6 weeks ago.
To: Grampa Dave
What if the people mailing these Anthrax strains are identified as members of Elf, Earth First and other green envirals who hate Americans? What will you response be?
No brainer. Drop them off in Afghanistan (of Iraq) first. Then start bombing.
To: dixierat22
Is revenge the only motivation we need for using nukes? Evidently, you did not read Rep Buyer's remarks. He did not mention revenge as his motivation.
Nuclear weapons are part of our deterrence package. The implicit bargain we have with the world is "Don't use WMD on us, we won't use WMD on you." Rep Buyer says we need to back up that implicit deal, now that the other side has broken the terms of it.
The terrorists have proven that they will incrementally up the violence if they are not stopped. The WTC bombing in 93, the Khobar Towers bombing in 96, the East Africa embassy bombings in 98, the Cole bombing in 2000, were a ratcheting up of the war on the terrorist side. We did not respond in kind. We took ineffective military action in 98. The others were left as law enforcement matters, and we certainly did not get justice.
So now they have introduced WMD - anthrax, biological warfare - in attacks on the US. The fact that anthrax isn't terribly infectious, isn't contagious, and is treatable are not reasons to brush it off as a non-event. To do otherwise is to accept biological warfare as a condition of this war.
It is not a question of whether they will use WMD - they have. And we must make them pay the price so that they nor ANYONE ELSE whould ever think that they can use biological warfare on the US.
