Bill's not beating around Prez Bush (gag alert)

BILL CLINTON. So sharp you could cut your finger just shaking hands with him. And so fast. And so smooth. And so easy. And with such a smile.

Backstage at the Concert for New York, the man's working it. Surrounded by photogs, handlers, security, autographers, handshakers. Amidst this mob I ask: "So, if you were still the USA's main man, how differently would you handle this Osama bin Laden deal?"

Clinton spews:

And I know exactly what it feels like to be second-guessed. I don't think any of us should be doing that right now.

Since Day One of this crisis, Clinton has been exhorting us not to "second guess" Bush. By continually repeating that phrase, it sounds like that's exactly what he wants us to do.

I'll bet she only had one hand on the keyboard while she wrote that.

Hope they washed their hands afterward.

Cindy Adams is the queen of the gossip columnist suck-ups -- she's even more fawning than Liz Smith, which is saying something. Cindy Adams' crusade of the past few months has been defending that poor, misunderstood, downtrodden ... LIZZIE GRUBMAN!

Harrison Ford: "So why doesn't he speak out about this?
Peering at me like I wasn't overly bright, Harrison said: "It's not my job to speak out. When I have a movie to sell I do interviews, Otherwise, I don't. I'm an interpretive artist. Acting is what I do, not speaking out. And the reason I never said this before is because nobody ever asked me this before."

Mr. Ford appears to be quite observant.

Heh heh... I don't understand any of them. I was born and raised in a small hispanic town in New Mexico.

Watching an episode of Seinfeld?--I may as well be watching the International Channel for all the sense any of it makes to me.

Adams: "So, if you were still the USA's main man, how differently would you handle this Osama bin Laden deal?"

Clinton: "I would get Monica's head off my lap and ask her what she thought about it."

Note to Adams: Clinton was never the USA's "main man." In fact, I would use the term "man" loosely.

It's a Jew thaing. IMHO the funniest series EVER on television. My brother, who has lived in Germany for the past 25 years says that they show it over there dubbed in German. He loves the show, and always makes a point to watch it when he's here in the States. But he says that the show just isn't funny in German.

OTH, he said that the German dubbed "Married with Children" is much funnier than the original American English version. I don't speak German, but somehow I can't imagine how that could be.

Well, it seems he did say that, and I immediately thought of "Air Force One". I just liked the part where Msss. Adams said -"peering at me like I wasn't overly bright...". I guess he forgot about all the guns going off and stuff blowing up in a lot of his movies.

Don't you love how Clinton said virtually nothing - as always - and the faithful take it as a sign of inner genius at work. You will recall that when Clinton was reelected (with less than 50% for the second time) David Brinkley was caught on camera stating that Clinton has never said a damn thing worth repeating. Some genius.

BTW, was it just me or was Harrison Ford bombed out of his gourd when he appeared at the WTC concert? He was slurring his words and looked like he was going to fall over.

Lizzie Grubman is the "PR princess", as the Post calls her, who backed up her Mercedes SUV and ran over 15 people outside a club in the Hamptons. She is alleged to have had a snit over the bouncer of the club asking her to move her illegally parked car -- she was quoted as telling him "BLEEP you, white trash" before backing up her car. Anyhow, this was a huge story in the papers before September 11 -- Ms. Grubman claims it was all a "horrible accident," but she fled the scene of the crime and stalled cops so that they couldn't give her a DWI/drug test that night. Cindy Adams, the columnist who wrote this Clinton suck-up column, has been virtually alone in defending this woman.

What you have got to understand is his immediate shifting of the subject to the OK City bombing which deflected responses to something that couldn't possibly be booed. He has always been a master of deflecting 'attacks'... it comes with years of practice.

Hillary, on the other hand, seems to think that her very prescence, as a senator, will guarantee her a platform... free from ANY visible, immediate criticism. That she was allowed to show up for this venu can only be due to an enormous screw-up on her 'handlers' part. She, herself, has no clue as to who 'likes' her and who doesn't. Did you notice how that phony smiling, puffy cheeked, face turned to a strained, hateful, hollow faced visage... all within the 20 seconds she was on. Too wonderfull to hope for!

Most humor is funniest in its native tongue. VERY FEW things are funny at all in German, and usually only those that originate in the German. An exception is material translated into German that either has no direct translation or is translated LITERALLY...which can be hysterical!

I don't remember specifics, but some company was making its products in Japan and wanted to sell them in France. Rather than hiring a translator, the company translated the owner's manual itself. Only one problem: the company had only Japanese-to-Portuguese and Portugese-to-French dictionaries on hand. They couldn't find a Japanese-to-French dictionary, so they used the other two. The resulting laugh riot was funnier than any of those mis-translated signs you see passed around in email.

"I'm not going to second guess Bush," Clinton replied, after having carefully thought his answer through, "but I could if I wanted to. I have my own ideas about what to do with Bin Laden." Then Clinton, in his best Maxwell Smart impersonation said, "Missed him by that much."

I really wish people would stop posting things about this slime. He's like a bad car wreck. I just can't look away.
