I've been around FreeRepublic for a long time, and have only recently had a name change.

When you want to have a serious thread, use your oldest screen name possible.

Trust me!

Let it be. Your post took on a character much different than you had anticipated but it has been fantastic! No need to defend yourself...you brought a smile to many faces today so you did well!

Depending on your field, it will increase a lot at first then level down. Glad you have realistic expectations. The professors talked the same talk when I was in college. I suppose if all you do is stay at a college and never get in the real world, that's all you know. At least I'm thankful I studied engineering. It's pretty hard liberialize math and physics. LOL!

The reason the government continues with it's policies is money honey, it's far easier to replace worker bees than lost cash.

You have alot of grace under fire, this is why you will never see me post an article to FR. I am under enough stubid pressure without dishin myself more grief.

I graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University.

Yep, I believe we've discovered the root of all yer problems, pard. And with post #132, you're really stepped in it now - ever hear the expression "when you find yourself in a really deep hole, stop digging"?

We're going to have to take up a collection now to buy you a thicker coat of skin and a sense of humor. I hear Hillary!'s not using hers since Sat. night . . . . . .

Hmmm, let me see: How did we become dumbed down? Could it be

a)Could it be that we let the communists take over our government schools (no longer are they public)
b)Could it be that we allowed the PC crowd to control our thoughts and speech and did nothing to stop them?
(c)Could it be that we allowed them to feminize our male children and did nothing?
(d) Could it be that we allowed our military to be feminized and did nothing?
(e)Could it be that we elected an evil man TWICE and did nothing about it?
(f)Could it be that we allow organizations like nambla to exist and say nothing about it?
I'll stop here as I'm sure you get the point.
And now we are so stupid that we allow another Government grab of our freedoms and say nothing about the Home
Defense Act because we want to be secure.
I have news for you, we cannot have security AND freedom. As for me, I choose freedom.

In regard to politics, how can our politicians continue to promote policies that expand government control. Furthermore, how can they neglect to get involved in those areas that are constitutionally given? Not only that, but how can some politicians promote the elimination of various examples of American Rights and, or, Freedoms?

Easy: it's deliberate. Although they would like us all to think that they only mean well, that they are just so embroiled in the day to day that they don't realize how it all adds up, the truth is they know exactly what they're doing.

Not one of these societal leeches has the guts to stand up and say "Hey, we don't need to pass any more laws, we don't need to regulate things even more, what we need to do is go back through this bloated mess of laws, weed out the ones that aren't needed , and make sure we are enforcing the ones that are, with a view to staying within the defined powers of the Constitution, so that our people can enjoy the blessing of liberty without the overbearing presence of the government breathing down their necks at every turn." Not one politician in a million would have the cajones to stand up and say that, because it would be political suicide. Just because something is political suicide doesn't meant that it's not the right thing to do.

I understand what you're saying. However, it would seem that a politician who says something like that would be popular. That is, unless the media slanders them beyond belief. I take it that's what you mean by it being political suicide. The media has too much influence, and the people fall for it too often. That's your dumbed-down populace, I suppose.

You caught my point exactly. The leftist/socialist politicians that are propogating all this ever-expanding control have the media in their pockets, and it is the media that shapes most peoples' opinions. The sheeple will believe what they are told to believe, and will not question it, until they wake up one morning and discover that they have no freedoms, they have no rights, and then they will whine "How could this happen? This is America! We're not supposed to live like this!" but it will be too late. TV has made spectators of us all. It has created a disconnect between action and reaction. We don't see them as connected events. It's really sad, because most people don't really see that to preserve freedom, they must personally get involved. It's the lack of involvement that the Left counts on to slip their poison into our society.

Let's scrap this. I have no time for bs. With responses such as these, we'll never get to the issue at heart, and, therefore, nothing will ever change.

I haven't time for such nonsense.

That reply did it. This thread will go on fourever..........
