In regard to politics, how can our politicians continue to promote policies that expand government control. Furthermore, how can they neglect to get involved in those areas that are constitutionally given? Not only that, but how can some politicians promote the elimination of various examples of American Rights and, or, Freedoms?

Easy: it's deliberate. Although they would like us all to think that they only mean well, that they are just so embroiled in the day to day that they don't realize how it all adds up, the truth is they know exactly what they're doing.

Not one of these societal leeches has the guts to stand up and say "Hey, we don't need to pass any more laws, we don't need to regulate things even more, what we need to do is go back through this bloated mess of laws, weed out the ones that aren't needed , and make sure we are enforcing the ones that are, with a view to staying within the defined powers of the Constitution, so that our people can enjoy the blessing of liberty without the overbearing presence of the government breathing down their necks at every turn." Not one politician in a million would have the cajones to stand up and say that, because it would be political suicide. Just because something is political suicide doesn't meant that it's not the right thing to do.

I understand what you're saying. However, it would seem that a politician who says something like that would be popular. That is, unless the media slanders them beyond belief. I take it that's what you mean by it being political suicide. The media has too much influence, and the people fall for it too often. That's your dumbed-down populace, I suppose.
