Lighten up, Francis. People are just kidding around -- nobody cares what happens with these in-breds anyway.
But, more to your point, nothing's impossible when it comes to this "royals" business. After all, the Windsor family aren't even the legitimate monarchs in the first place. The Stewarts are the legitimate British monarchs. So, if an illegitimate dynasty can sit on the throne for 300 years, ANYTHING can happen.

I don't have a very high degree of tolerance for monarchies as a form of government, even in the largely ceremonial sense as in the UK.
But his renunciation of the crown is kind of a hollow protest as long as he retains any pretentions to the rank and titles afforded him as a member of the "royal family".
Either you are "in the game" with all of this peerage stuff, or you are not. I mean, is he renouncing his position in the lineage, and on throughout all of his children and their generations? Is he really declaring himself to be "a commoner" (as the gentry so gently put it).
Or is he simply looking to follow in the madcap and carefree footsteps of his good old Uncle Andy? Lots of cash, not a care in the world, castles, serfs, vassels, porn stars for bed warmers.
What a life!

I remember when William was a little kid, he announced he wanted to be a policeman. No joke.

It's IMPOSSIBLE for Prince Charles to be " passed over ", and anyone else to be made king, upon his mother's demise. If you knew history, you'd know this already. King Edward's father, thought him absolutely unsuitabe for the position; however , he DID , indeed , become KING EDWARD ; only to abdicate the throne. Why don't you knw this ? Before you decide But what if Charles dies before his mom? Then he'll be passed over... well, you would think, anyway.

What an breathtaking snub to renounce the family name and refuse to participate in the Golden Jubilee anniversary of Elizabeth.
Diana really did a number on those kids while she had them.

Smart kid. What a dead end job.The money is good, but all things considered, I'd rather be a janitor. At least you go home feeling you accomplished something.

Oh, a brave little papist tyrant, are we.
Thank God for the Glorious Revolution! Down with the Jacobite pansy squires!

Dude, you've had some really strange posts. Are you ok?
I thought Britney Spears died in an LA car wreck a few weeks ago, sorta a twist on The World According To Garp.
Has anyone asked if they have Prince Albert in a can?

Oh please ...I am so far removed from being a "soccermom", that it should make your head spin. Take you solophistic, juvenile, smarmy , armchair psychoanalysis and eat it. All I did was to state factual , historically correct, information. If you read anything other into my post, YOU are the one with the problem !
