[history]
Under the cirumstances, we must be wary of young Arab men.
It was Sept. 14 at 9 p.m., and I was on Fifth Avenue, directly across the street from St. Patrick's Cathedral. I was standing, that is, directly in front of the statue of Atlas holding up the world, at the entrance of Rockefeller Center. I was with my 14-year-old son. We were waiting for friends who were going to accompany us downtown to see the memorials that had sprung up in Washington Square and other places.

Uhm, Peggy, if you're reading this, what I said about you the other day was meant as CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. :)

Carry a small camera at all times. Use it. Write down license numbers. Ask them their names and what they are doing. We own America, they are just guests.

It's hard to believe that Peggy Noonan is writing such reality based common sense. Bump!
To: Pokey78
Peggy is writing what everyone is now saying in private, even in the most liberal places (believe me, I know whereof I speak).

bingo! exactly right. i carry an olympus stylus -- my "tornado camera" -- and as i read this i realized that it is exactly the thing to do. among other things, if they see you making pictures, they could give themselves away one way or another. (too bad there's no pork-based mace. there are, fortunately, other things.)

This is nothing new for her, its just become more socially acceptable.I just wish she'd stop tossin' her hair like a flirty tease....those kind got on my nerves so much, back in 1977.

Well written and sadly true..I had in high school a great friend from Pakistan..he was born in Pakistan but grew up in America, which he dearly loved..he had such a wonderful American accent that he won speech awards and was a DJ for a local radio station..but he was "brown as a paper bag" (his words not mine for you pc folks..few as they maybe) and if he and I were to about to board a flight here in America he should expect to be searched thorougly..I think he would understand..

Of course, Ann Coulter said all this a month ago, but then she does have a rare facility with logic.
To: Pokey78
She is SO right. But what is interesting is that many people who just 5 weeks ago would have NEVER considered doing any 'profiling' are getting into it, and not feeling guilty about it either!
Peggy puts it so well, we are in the fight of our lives, and those Muslims and other Middle Easterners who are offended by our attitudes will just have to get a BDG (big damn grip)!

This woman always says it all, and in such a unique and classy way.She is exactly right, if we ignore the Middle eastern looking men and just keep our mouths shut to be PC, we are perhaps putting lives in danger. Like it or not, they do fit the profile and we are indeed in a fight for our lives.
Peggy's son is a freeper! That thread was on here that she is talking about! Can't recall who posted it, but I do remember it.
