A freeper's observation: The establishment meida and the anthrax crises
E.G.C.

I know there's been a couple of articles on this subject. I just wanted to offer my personal observation on the subject.

Over the course of the last few years, I've been writing over 50 letters to the editor in various newspapers all across Oklahoma where I live and nationwide. Over half of those letters dealt with the subject of liberal media bias.

The reason why I choose this as my main platform was because of the continued show of favortism that the media was and is continuing to show towards Democrats and liberal and progressive cause while at the same time running a bunch of reckless and irresponsible hatchet jobs on Republican, conservative and christian causes which have resulted in many people of these beliefs being fired from their jobs and in some cases being ostercized in their communities. I've known and visited some of these people so I know what it's like to be ostercized for what you believe in.

I've also become all too familiar with the people who are loyal fans of these news organizations. I know what kind of poor sports they are about having their favorite news outlets exposed as shills for the Democrats. It's quite obvious they consider these news outlets as their security blankets. I had the misfortune of listening to one such hot-headed person call into the Mark Davis Show on ABC Radio on Sunday. Gary MacNamara was filling in that show.

This ignorant hate-filled caller made what was the most outrageous, disgusting & insulting remark I've ever heard. He said that anyone who found fault with the establishment media was to blame for the anthrax problems being done to these news outlets. WELL, EXCUSE ME, but these are the very same news outlets that destroyed innocent lives and reputations by their reckless and irresponsible hatchet jobs on Republicians, christians & conservatives. And, for someone to imply that because people like myself and the Media Research Center and Citizens Coalition for Responsible Media have blown the whistle on the brazen partianship and liberal bias of these news outlets is absoulutely, positively disgusting, insulting and outrageous. And I for one have just about had it up to here with conservatives, chirsitans & Republicans being slapped with culpability everytime some criminal act is done in the name of these causes.

This is NOT what Ameirca is about. Our nation is about differing points of view and the ability to express them without fear of retribution. And, I have just one message for those hotheads of liberal and progressive minds and/or who are such big fans of CNN and the big three networks. If you cannot find the stomach or the decency to handle the writing and/or expressing of opinions and viewpoints which differ from yours, then might I suggest packing up and moving to a place that has no use for freedom of speech like Russia or China. This nation would be far better off without you. You are nothing but a complete liability to this nation and the comminity you live in.

I want to thank Free Republic for allowing me to vent my spleen on this subject. As soon as I post this, I will bookmark it on my profile page and then I'm going to turn off the computer for the night and check back tommorow morning for comments on this observation. This is a subject I feel very passionately about because of the influence these news outlets have on the people of this country. I'll now defer to everyone else for comments.
Regards, E.G.C. Oklahoma.

The only people who deny media bias are the media itself- news and entertainment- and their shills. The average person I talk to is deeply suspicious, and has been for years, that there are all sorts of "agendas" being pushed on them- agendas they don't really agree with.

That's the impression I'm getting here in Southwest Oklahoma which is conservative country. The vast majority here are as suspicious of the national media as we are here at FR. There are still a few hotheads who look at these news outlets as their security blanket and can't stand the thought of them being critiqued
