The Neverending Story (The New Christian Chronicles)
Southern Baptists ending talks with Catholic Church ^ | 3/24/01 | AP

The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

Oh, I forgot the link:

Temple Israel

I don't think either of us would like it, though, they look pretty liberal (religion and politics).

Were planning on coming one day for the Washington Bikers ride, "Rolling Thunder" to the Vets wall.

Harley-Davidson will be reprising their 95th anniversary reunion for their 100th anniversary in 2003. If you come up to Milwaukee, we'll have to hook up!

God always gets the last word.

LOL! God always IS the last word. And the first one too!

Ooh ooh. Try Jeannette, PA next.

Sorry, you will have to go straight to the lake of fire. :)

No, just kidding, here is one.

Doesn't look like Tulsa has an orthodox shul. Looks like you only have a reform temple. There's not even a conservative synagogue any closer than Oklahoma City. And you call this the Bible Belt!? ;o)

Lot of liberals in Tulsa, (but we do have 900 ft jesus:) You could come and start one.

You give me an idea. We should ALL take turns going to a nearby house of worship that is similar or the same denomination of the others here. Then we can report back on our impressions.

Who wants in?

I don't remember a Church being there. I'll have to look next time I go by. I could probably walk there in 15 minutes or less from my house.

Tempting. Of course, I'd have to wait till my kids were grown up, and then spend several years at a rabbinical seminary. What's the average temperature in Tulsa in January and July?

I can just see it "Temple El-I-B" or "Angelo's Conservative Jew Temple and Bagel House." :-)

I've always wondered if I could someday go to somewhere, um, untouched by certain developments and open up a shop. I figured I could sell bagels, rent videos, have a laundromat and shooting range. Wouldn't it be fun to shoot a few rounds while you're waiting for the spin cycle? Maybe sell a few beers for folks who aren't shooting.

Not me, I have enough trouble keeping myself straight after reading the stuff on here, I need a good dose of simple gospel by Sun. and Wed.:)

NO actually I have a friend who invited me to her church and I was tempted to go. It's chrismatic, I have never been to a chrismatic church. She told me they do alot of jumping around and speaking in tongues. But to tell the truth, I am a bit afraid of that stuff, and just to be going out of curiosity sake is wrong, IMO, so I haven't gone yet.

Well, I attend Mass on a fairly regular basis. Although, several of the parishioners have suggested that even the closeness of the Catholic Church to the Lord may not be sufficient to save my Lutheran soul.

Honestly I'm having a hard enough time making it to my own service right now, what with my wife having problems and the baby still being quarantined for safety during flu season. (We don't take her anywhere except to grandparents' house.) But I'd be game for giving it a shot sometime. Probably in the spring.

Yeah, sure, but a few rounds of turkey bacon to go with it and you'll be yearning for home. :-)

Well, just keep going through the motions at Mass and maybe God won't notice you're Lutheran. ;-)

You could try something else. Like a Charismatic or AOG or Jewish. It could be interesting. Personally, other than a wedding or funeral or Baptism, I've never been to a regular service at any other type of place.
