The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

Boys! boys! No fight'n over lil 'ol me. Blush.

If you had to pick today, where would it be? If it were entirely up to me, we'd be attending the local synagogue. Since this is not an option, I'd be open to any church which promotes a strong relationship with God and a firm, objective moral moral teaching.

LOL. These proto-egalitarian democrats apparently forgot that everyone needed to vote on stuff. Rather, they acted like they were on a mission from God to promote the Truth. Some of them even wrote letters that they expected the other Christians to obey, not vote on . How non-democratic is that? Oh, the horror!
Did they have a Hierarchy? How did they select their replacement?
Are you selective in what you choose to answer?

GuessBubba's bait, beer, and emporium? :)

Never aquired a taste for beer (and I'm suprised that a Baptist would bring it up - are you tempting your brother to sin?).
I'm waiting to hear who offers the best signing bonus. I'm also looking for everything greater than four to be "voidable years".

Did they have a Hierarchy? How did they select their replacement? Sounds like they let the Holy Spirit choose for them by some type of gambling device.
Are you selective in what you choose to answer?
Gee, I don't know. Did you answer why you took offense at my question to IMRight, when he didn't take offense to it?

I'm waiting to hear who offers the best signing bonus. You would think these guys would want you to raise your kids Catholic. So later on they can come to their senses and be "saved." :-)

You think I'm going to tell you that? You might go back to your "militant" ways and come after me.

Nah, as long as you stay out of Mack's corner of Oklahoma he won't bother you. Unless you're coming to tell him about the wonderful new homowner's association you're starting up. ;-)

HOA? I hate HOAs.
And Mack may travel to the DC area. So I still have to be carefull - his idea of "conversion" may be more violent than mine.

Well, this re interpretation of scripture produced a reaction among other Bible Christians who became "fundamentalists" because they tried to stick to the "fundamentals". Is that how you see fundamentalism ? as a sort of reaction to the watered down type of scripture interpretation ?Haven't really thought much about how I see fundamentalism. I've certainly described myself as a wacko, right wing, christian, fundamental, conservative, extremist more than once. I think it means someone who trys to pattern their lives by the Word of God.

This is the closest I could find to you.

Thanks, but my wife had a real bad time with a "Baptist Temple" when she went there. Lots of problems with that church. They're the ones I talked about when I talked about "banking issues". Father - Pastor, Son - Spanish pastor, Wife - Office manager, etc etc. Besides, we're happy with both churches we go to now. We may settle down to one, but there's no need to add one.
Look up "Reston Bible Church" - they aren't IFBB, but they're pretty close.

I think it means someone who trys to pattern their lives by the Word of God. Well.... God always gets the last word.

Doesn't look like Tulsa has an orthodox shul. Looks like you only have a reform temple. There's not even a conservative synagogue any closer than Oklahoma City. And you call this the Bible Belt!? ;o)

And Mack may travel to the DC area. Were planning on coming one day for the Washington Bikers ride, "Rolling Thunder" to the Vets wall.
So I still have to be carefull - his idea of "conversion" may be more violent than mine.
It only hurts for a few days. :)
