I would have thought Iraq would actually be able to kill more than 1 if they are behind it.

Unless this is Saddam's insurance policy, to ensure we don't strike back at him for 9/11: threaten to have sleepers on US soil use biological WMD against us.

The migration from the incubation period to the outbreak condition is just beginning. Sad to say, we ain't seen nothing yet.The seeds have already been sown, and we are seeing them germinate.

C'mon...it's Iraq, the Keyston Kops of the middle east. Remember the "Mother of All Wars," which became a right good spanking for Saddam? They are inept and inefficient. Why, they can't even show a bunch of terrorists how to use anthrax properly, so as to kill thousands, instead of one middle-aged editor.

I would have thought Iraq would actually be able to kill more than 1 if they are behind it. The story doesn't suggest that the Iraqis were behind the distribution of the Anthrax to the victims, only that they supplied it to the terrorists.

I don't think you understand. The objective in this wave may not be to kill a massive amount of people immediately, but rather a slow trickle of cases that grow each day over a multi-week period. And not necessarily just anthrax. Introduce an infectious disease on airliners or in convention centers, other public places, and you could see a nationwide quarantine within weeks or less.
But ultimately, I think their objective is not so much murder, or even just simply causing mass fear and panic, but rather MASSIVE ECONOMIC DISRUPTION. What are some of the common threads for the attacks so far: key pieces of our societal infrastructure and economy. Air travel, postal service, media, microsoft(and perhaps later cyber attacks on our internet related infrastructure). Other targets subjected to suspicious activities so far(though perhaps diversionary) include water supply, electrical supply, and entertainment complexes. If I were them, I'd forget the Sears tower, and go after random strikes in suburban areas on icons of the consumer economy: walmarts, grocery stores, malls, restaurants, theaters. And then the most chilling blows of all, children, such as in daycare centers, via both violent and infectious methods. Most effective way reduce mothers in the workforce.
Goodness I hope that I'm wrong, but they seem to be methodical, patient, and well-planned.

So now the US has what it wanted, irrefutable proof to get Hussain. but I could be very wrong in saying I think someone else, ala Ted Kuzinski? is behind the anthrax envelopes, taking advantage of an americ an who hates big corporate $$$ like Microsoft and the news media. I mean why on earth would a terrorist send a letter to JLo huh? Why Jennifer Lopez?!? Brokaw, Gates, maybe a terror attack then but JLo?

I'm concerned that these current "anthrax attacks" are merely test runs. The spores are contained in a powder/dust like substance -- crop duster anyone? Also -- they've been very isolated. We've just had an instance of someone emptying some of this powder into the ventilation system of an airliner. Could be anthrax -- could be something else.
Remember the people who touched the powder saying it burned -- in order to have a cutaneous anthrax infection, the derma needs to be broken - or burned -- in order to be absorbed into the system.
We need to be extra vigilant. These guys are going to keep coming. Not being negative -- pragmatic. Know thy enemy.

It is time to NUKE the country we feel is most responsible for terrorism. Send a note to the others on the list that unless they reign in the terrorist....they are next.
