Nader attacks U.S. bombing campaign

Oct. 12, 2001 | SAN FRANCISCO -- On Thursday night, progressive crusdaer Ralph Nader finally threw himself into the war debate. Speaking before a cheering crowd of 1,500 at San Francisco's Masonic Auditorium, Nader launched perhaps his broadest attack on Washington since the November election. After speaking for about 20 minutes on his favorite themes -- reforming the electoral process, curbing corporate power, ending poverty -- Nader set his sights on the government's anti-terror campaign, decrying the Bush administration's emphasis on a military response and Congressional acquiescence in the face of a White House assault on civil liberties.
"When are we going to learn from history?" he asked. "When are we going to learn that we can't bomb our way to justice?"
Instead of increasing U.S. security, said Nader, bombing Afghanistan would just give the Muslim world another reason to hate America. U.S. policies in the Middle East -- such as our.support for Saudi Arabia's repressive regime and our sanctions on Iraq, which have created misery for its civilian population -- have already alienated much of the Arab world, he noted. Bombing Afghanistan will only hurt the country's weakest people, "thus giving terrorists the images they need to recruit more killers."
This dude asking the question about learning from history..... And he's run for President how many times? He doesn't learn too well either.....

I don't know about that, Ralph. Anybody hear from Nazi Germany lately?
I saw an interview during the campaign when he was asked how his status as a multi-millionaire (from dabbling in non-profits!) meshed with his rhetoric. He replied that he used his wealth for worthy purposes, unlike the greedy corporations and many of the rich.

The weekend before election tuesday, I had to listen to him soapboxing at three different universities. Right off I had a grip on his trade policy but he soon lost me when he went marxist. He's difficult to listen to if you understand socialists and abhor the philosophy.
What really grabbed my attention was a student questioneer who asked how he would enforce Affirmative Action if elected president. Nader said he was glad someone asked him that and proceeded to explain that for over 300 years white Euro males have held advantage in America. "It's time for white European males to be forced to the back of the bus to give everyone else a fair chance!"
About one half of each crowd applauded when he would state this. I would have loved to ask some follow-up questions.
Do these white Euro males include Jews? If so get ready to be destroyed Ralph.
If not, are we subdividing by religion also?
Are you only after Christians? How about Atheists? Catholics? Mormons? And so on....
That could have opened-up a can of worms he couldn't swallow, IMO.
The guy's a total Communist. Period.
