Which party rigged the Impeachment Trial to ensure that there could not and would not be a conviction?

The Democratic Party with the assistance of the media. Glad to help you out.

No, I clarified my statement when an error was pointed out in my generalization.

Recognizing and correcting one's errors is probably a foreign idea to most
see-no-evil Republicans, of course.

And I see you have no proper reponse to my statement.

since all that would be left are the ultra-leftist Democrats and their carbon-copies, the Libertarians

This contradicts your statement that we are allowing Democrats into office by dishonestly draining votes from GOP candidates.

If libertarians are "leftists" why the hell would they vote Republican in the first place? Get your story straight.

If a Republican loses, it's his own damn fault. Mobilize your own party, don't blame ours. You are the party of "personal responsibility", aren't you?

NOT ONE Republican Senator voted against S. 1438, the senate appropriations bill that forces decommissioning of ex-military equipment, including privately owned firearms.

All you libertarian haters remove the beam from your own eyes before commenting on the splinter in mine, thanks.

I have my reservations about the LP, and don't necessarily support every single platform plank. I know most of you Republicans probably do not wholeheartedly agree with each and every platform plank. On the other hand, I have my differences with the Republican Party, as well.

The Constitutino Party seems to be a very fine, principled party with solutions that don't rely on increased government.

IMO, you are better off voting your conscience than voting so that you can claim to be on the winning side. Gideon didn't win with numbers.

All you libertarian haters

You addressed that to the wrong side of the room.

Why fear what Libertarians might do when we can see what Republicans have done.

You've got that right - and we keep seeing more of the same every day.

Let's put it this way. The Constitutional Party is more in line with my views than the GOP. But I have a much better position trying to elect GOP candidates that reflect my views than Constitutional candidates.

Sure, that's a good reason, and a civil response.

...No. Libertarianism is not a doctrinaire philosophy. Unlike the left and the right, individual issues are debated on AN INDIVIDUALS PHILOSOPHY, not dictatorial or dogmatic bulldog shtt.

The only good thing I can say about this "article" is that we won't have to worry about multiple postings.

"Socialist Democrats, socialist Republicans... what's the difference?"

Probably not much but considering the liberaltarians' inability to "kick the habit" of their preoccupation of drug legalization and the overwhelming public repudiation of their ideology by 95%+ of voters, what difference does it make to you anyway?

Voteing Libertarian is a waste of time, money and is self defeating.

What's more self-defeating, voting your conscience, or wimping out and giving in to bigger government and less liberty?

I always chuckle at Republicans telling Libertarians to vote Republican. You guys don't like us ANYWAY, so why would you care who we vote for? We're the fringe, right? We're inconsequential, right? So stop asking those of us committed to freedom, liberty, and a limited government to abandon our principles in the name of the elephant.

Dubya admitted we've given Afghanistan over $150 million this year, previous to 9/11. His first budget increased the budget 4% before the terrorist attacks.

I could understand Republicans angry at fellow Republicans who don't vote, or Republicans who split their ticket and vote for Democrats on occassion...

But why such effort to dissuade lovers of freedom from voting for the only party that gives a damn about individual liberty and limited government?

Face it -- you've abandoned your belief in liberty, freedom, and limited government just so you can be 'on a team'. THAT is simply abandoning your principles. If a Libertarian can be happy voting for the party of John McCain, then you're not really a Libertarian to begin with.

Your side is the one complaining we're costing them elections and the Senate.

Which is it? Are we irrelevant, or a threat?

If the former, why even bother responding? If the latter, perhaps it is cause to re-examine your premises.

The libertarian movement is gaining ground. You can tell by the desperation in some of the responses. They're afraid of us so they attack us.

I fully aware I may be in the minorty on certain points, and I work to raise issues. Why the suggested we are all dysfunctionally stubborn? Leave your insults at the door, please.

You have a point as far as having a discussion with these people is. It's like trying to reason with pre-programmed robots or something.

It is a useless exercise, it is once again proven by this thread, to have a discussion with these .00005 percenters.

"But then again, who would vote for a libertarian as dog catcher."

Not me. That would be a disgrace to the dogs.
