Voteing Libertarian is a waste of time, money and is self defeating. Just look at the US Senate which the Libertarians handed to the Socialist Demoncrats. Washington State would not have Maria Cantvotewell if Libertarians had any common sense.

Socialist Democrats, socialist Republicans... what's the difference?

Socialist Democrats, socialist Republicans... what's the difference? Which party has a libertarian caucus? Which Party is closer to your ideology? Which party has a major Libertarian Presidential candidate as a member of the US House?

Socialist Democrats, socialist Republicans... what's the difference? Ummmm.... Lp'ers never get elected?

I thought the GOP lost the Senate precisely because of socialists in their ranks like Jim Jeffords.
And I guess I don't see but 10% difference in Trent Lott and Tom Daschle.
To: Hacksaw
You are absolutely right.
The Democrats and Republicans have both decided the easy way to win elections is buying
votes with socialist programs.
The loser, however, isn't just the libertarians. It is the American ideal of liberty.

Wasting your time seeking purity will accomplish nothing. If you desire to live in the real world instead of your fantasyland you will join the Republican Party and move them in your direction. Third parties never accomplish anything.
To: Free the USA
The GOP began as a third party.

Wasn't this guy the "anti-gun" libertarian?

Just look at the US Senate Yes, lets take a good look at the US Senate. NOT ONE Republican Senator voted against S. 1438, the senate appropriations bill that forces decommissioning of ex-military equipment, including privately owned firearms. They couldn't even be bothered to have the offending provision changed. Most of them probably didn't even read what they voted for. Don't believe me? Have a look at the official vote count:
U.S. Senate Roll Call Votes, Measure Number: S. 1438
Now tell me exactly how have Republicans earned my vote? If I wanted gun-grabbing socialists, I could vote for Democrats.
The only worthy part of your party is the Republican Liberty Caucus, and your party leadership treats them like lepers. Clean up your party's act, it's a mess. You're halluncinating if you think I'm going to support a party with such a pathetic voting record as yours.

The GOP began as a third party. The Wig party collapsed and the GOP became a major party almost from the start. Neither the Republicans or the Demoncrats are in any danger of collapsing right now. The GOP had couple of years from their inception until they were a major party the Libertarians have accomplished nothing worthwhile in their entire twenty-five year history.

You can continue in your fantasyland or you can become part of the solution the choice is yours.

Neither the Republicans or the Demoncrats are in any danger of collapsing right now. So said the captain of the Potemkin.
Even conservatives are getting disgusted with the Republican Party.
To: Free the USA
All you Republicans are just wasting your vote. All you do is keep the Livertarian candidate from winning.

I noticed you didn't address the Senate's vote. I wouldn't either. It's downright shameful.
you can become part of the solution
You know, I think you have something there. We shouldn't try to defeat your party, we should take it over. I'll vote for any member of RLC, and against any Republican who isn't part of it. Thanks for the encouragement!
By the way, with votes like S. 1438, Republicans aren't the solution, they're the problem.

Rallying for gun control? LOL.

I can assure you that the libertarian party is pretty much dead here in Washington. They were actually making a few inroads into state politics but then they launched they're major effort at being a spoiler in the U.S. Senate election. They pumped a lot of effort into trying to unseat Slade Gorton, and from the numbers and their own braying, they succeeded and gave us Senator Cantwell. Cantwell has distinquished herself in one way; within months she became the leading personal fund raiser in the Senate.
That pretty much fried the libertarians in this state prior to 911...since then the folly and danger of listening to them is even more apparent. I can guarantee there will be more Cantwell posters at their next rally, for anything above dog catcher, then there will be for their own candidate. But then again, who would vote for a libertarian as dog catcher.
