SPECIAL EDITION

The President addressed the nation this evening, and once again assured the American public and the world that it is our intention to bring the 'evil-doers' to justice. He also reassured the citizens of the United States that their government is doing everything within its power to track down any leads regarding possible terrorist activiy in the US. Bush also announced a new initiative for the nation's children to help the children of Afghanistan. Children can send one dollar to the White House and that money, via the Red Cross, will go toward helping the children of Afghanistan. Earlier in the day, the President attended a memorial service for those whose lives were lost at the Pentagon one month ago. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Mine eyes have seen the glory

Thanks for posting this. Learned it the 4th grade and couldn't remember past the 1st verse for the last 2 prayer services.

Well usually the babies have math on Friday when they come home from school. Tomorrow it's gonna be music!

Teach your children well.

I didn't get to the Dose till late because I was finally turning my tax information into the CPA (final deadline is October 15) and then I bought enough Hallowe'en candy for about 4000 troops to have a piece. I also got another ten videos to send them.
They are receiving the care packages we are sending, and that makes me happy as I know many of them are going to be transferred (if they haven't been already) to the Afghan front and U.N. troops will take the place of our U.S. troops in Kosovo.
The Chaplain sent a special request for videos, and we have got about fifty in the pipeline now. When the first wave of twelve arrived he said some of them had already watched some of them two or three times before he emailed me the word of their arrival plus some pictures. They also really loved the Snickers and the playing cards.
Anyone who wishes to contribute toward the postage to send the videos and candy to our troops, please FReepmail me. If you want to send videos, please check the list to make sure you aren't duplicating, and if you are we'll try to find another camp to send it to.
Finally, I would appreciate anyone who would add to my Hallowe'en candy airlift, as I came short of the 5000 plus who are serving in the FRY. Anyone who will first class mail 100 pieces of Hallowe'en candy (cost will be about $15-25, depending on what you get, how heavy it is and where you live), let me know and I'll give you the address. If ten more people will do this, then we can make sure every service member in the FRY is remembered.

Cheers!
Patty

P.S. to lawgirl.

Could you repost my post above on tomorrow's Dose?
Mountaingirl and I are going to a FReep in Fresno Friday afternoon/evening and then to see Billy Graham Saturday.
We are also going to check out silk; my cousin recommended black, dark brown or camouflage for the scarves as they won't show the dirt and the sweat. I'm going to see if we can buy some bolts and have the scarves made up specially.

Truly wonderful photo collection today...such emotion and conviction, heartache and resolve.

I stand with you on praying for our leaders, esther2, I have the same thoughts tugging away at my conscience. Let's pray for their safety, wisdom and encouragement.

I'm overcome with the beauty of these pictures. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

...walking into history......my thoughts exactly!! And in red, white, and blue. All the pictures are keepers, but this one is so poignant and so special.

The most powerful warrior-leaders are men of fierce and also tender hearts. That's our President Bush.

When Bush told the Afghan government they get a second chance if they cough up Osama, I had this mental image of reporters all over the world trying to translate that figure of speech. LOL

Well, I worked the midnight shift and missed all the good stuff yesterday. I had to scroll through about 10 pages of articles until I found my daily dose from 10/11 but I finally found it and it was SO worth it! Thanks again rintense for all your dedication and hard work.

I had the opportunity to look her in the eye and get her autograph at the National Book Festival (which was Sept. 8, the last weekend before the massacre), and I can tell you that she is a very lovely person. She's thinner than she looks on TV (and she looks pretty good on TV), and she has absolutely captivating blue eyes. I just froze when she looked at me. Not only that, but she has a very calm manner, is very polite, and comes across as a warm person. She is not the least bit pretentious. We are blessed to have REAL people as our President and First Lady.

I haven't listened to Dr. Laura lately as she has been moved to a different time slot. But after the whole homosexual outrage thing, she seems to have taken a more 'center of the road' position on various topics and lacks the inner fire she once had. She always seemed to be someone I could count on for a completely honest point-of-view, but I'm not so sure that is happening now. On the other hand, it is possible she is growing tired of the 'Aunt Agony' scene, thus reflecting in her work. Who knows for sure. But I certainly do hope that she would not let others change her ability to voice her opinions and viewpoints.

President Bush is a Conservative, who is modelling Christ as no one ever has in the office of President of the United States. You need to get your facts straight, and stop listening to the rumors, son. You're really confused.

And please leave this glorious thread alone. There are many other places where you can voice your tiny minority, ill-thought out words against this fine, strong, Godly man. Go there, and make a fool of yourself.

Is any sane person really going to take someone seriously who says he/she wants to "nuke" "afghanies" and then turns around and calls President Bush, who snorted coke, "Christ-like"?

Incidentally, there has never been any proof that President Bush used cocaine, or the media, months ago, would have had a field day with it. So in light of the present worldwide situation, that tidbit is insignificant and gives you away.

If you look around, you will see that 90-92% of Americans stand firmly behind President Bush both in his reaction to the strikes and in the military action he has ordered. Simply put, hoyos, he is defending the freedom which thousands before us have died to protect. You would not be able to voice your opinions here if Americans had not fought and died to protect our freedoms. Easy for you and other peaceniks to spout off about innocent Afghans, blah blah blah, but what about the innocent AMERICAN men, women, and children who died on September 11? You defend a country which does nothing to help us, harbors terrorists, and inflicts a horrible lifestyle on its citizens, over our country and its leaders? You have it all wrong, my friend. Wake up and be thankful for what you have and what you are. If you still believe this nation is wrong in defending liberty, you need to move elsewhere.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that your first post is even more stupid than your second one. You probably should have watched one of your beloved Survivor tapes instead of watching the press conference (more likely at your mental/emotional level), because your blind hatred of the man didn't allow you to hear what President Bush really said. (smirk???? LOL!!!)

IMO you to be pitied, because you are missing out on experiencing one of the finest moments in American history under one of its finest, and strongest Presidents.
