Mine eyes have seen the glory
Of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage
Where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning
Of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.

Chorus:
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watchfires
Of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar
In the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence
By the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.

Chorus

I have read a fiery gospel writ
In burnished rows of steel:
"As ye deal with My contemners,
So with you My grace shall deal":
Let the Hero born of woman
Crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.

Chorus

He has sounded forth the trumpet
That shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men
Before His judgement seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him;
Be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.

Chorus

In the beauty of the lilies
Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom
That transfigures you and me;
As He died to make men holy,
Let us die to make men free;
While God is marching on.

Chorus

Didn't Great Britain name this campaign "Operation Swift Sword"? I think so and it always reminded me of the Battle Hymn.

That could have only come from that song, whether they knew it or not.

Yes Kudos!

I wanted to throw in a humorous caption...grin...

Here's my take on the Prez's thoughts...

Hoo boy... that dinner is sitting like a tamale from Chile's and there's that Helen Thomas sitting in the front row. Who brought her out of retirement?

Thanks again for this daily dose of pictures. I do not thank you enough for them. Truly - thanks so much.

I didn't have an opportunity to watch the Memorial Service live today (although I did get to hear a little bit of President Bush's speech on the radio.)

I just finished watching the replay on C-Span. WOW - I cannot quit crying. All the emotions from 9/11 came back to me - and since I had seen the pictures of President Bush on this thread first - before actually watching the service - well - what can I say.

We are so fortunate to have him as our President.

no problem ;-) I really love the last verse of that song and I think that is where W really identified and got all choked up even more. (I really love our president!)

Yes, that was when he choked up. The choir always sings that last verse in a quieter and more reverend tone then the others, and the Holy Spirit just sweeps over the people. I bet there were a lot of choking up going on.

I love that my husband, who is so easy going and funny, chokes up when discussing things of the Lord. Some people can't tell, but when I hear hear him swallow two or three times in between words, I know what's going on. I love that he has such a tender heart for Jesus and is so responsive to the Holy Spirit...same with the president.

Hi everyone! Patriciaruth had asked me to post this photo--it is from the troops over in Kosovo-I will let her tell more about what she has heard, (and what they are doing in this photo! LOL) but it sounds like they are very appreciative of our support from Project Kosovo. Thanks to all involved, and thanks to mountaingirl for hosting this photo!

This press conference in prime time was an inspired idea.
I don't think anything could have given the public more confidence than seeing the President ad lib answers in a way that showed not just determination, but moral focus and a complete command of the situation and information.
He really earned some gravitas wings tonight. I think this was more impressive than the historic speech before the joint session of Congress.

What a GIFT from GOD to this nation!!!!

The Islamic extremists think God is on their side, but they failed to realize how many people in this country prayed and made contrition promises and tried to turn themselves back to God while begging God to let us have George W. Bush for our President.

Did I really see the Democrat Senators (including Hillary) all lined up this morning praying to God? The ACLU must be having a seizure.

Damn! I don't think I ever noticed how friggin HOT Laura Bush is.

BTW, another thread was stating that W looked "worried", like he had just heard some "terrible warning" right before his press conference. I didn't see it so I don't know. Is this true?

I think GWB has lost noticable weight over being diturbed by all that has happened. (Of course, who wouldn't be?) His face to me looks thinner. What do you good folks think?

A perfect end to a thrilling day which started with the memorial service at the Pentagon, which will ever remain memorable.

It is an historic photo. It will be part of the legend. It will symbolize President Bush walking into history.

Agaiin, kitkat, I think Dr. Laura is not telling a whole truth regarding GWB. By saying she voted for the lesser of two evils, she gets herself off the hook for admitting she voted for him. Did she give any reason as to why she felt he was a lesser evil??? I am getting very, very disillusioned with Dr. Laura.

LOL Actually, I think I am guilty here. While what I posted in quotes was verbatim, my preface to it was not. Maybe I unconsciously exaggered Dr. Laura's "lesser of two evils" statement. I believe what she said was much milder.

But you bring up an interesting point. I'm not a fan of any Aunt Agony shows, and only listen occasionally because our local radio programing is DULLSVILLE in that time slot. Do you feel Dr. Laura is abdicating her stance on morality because of criticism? I'd value your opinion.
