That means Green is the next Mayor.
It will be fun watching that left winger deal with that racist crank Sharpy Sharton.
To: KQQL
Wow, that was tight. Much tighter than expected no? I think NYC may have just escaped another bullet.

Interesting. He's the one who agreed to an extended change over and the other guy didn't. Maybe the New Yorkers grew up.
To: Torie
Green is no saint !! NYC will finally get what they deserve.( A liberal Moron)

How was this posted at 3:52AM? What's up with this new format?
To: KQQL
Now it says 2:32PM. What the...?

Green is certainly not a kindred spirit to Freepers, including this one who is to the left of most, but I suspect he will be a reasonably competent manager. NYC suffered terribly under Dinkins, and with Ferrer, it might have been a reprise. I suspect Green will be more like Koch, although stylistically quite different.

I wouldn't be so happy about Mark Green either. He stinks too. He is also not a friend of the NYPD. He is a panderer and a democreep that will send this city back to the way it was in the 70's. But New York doesn't have a choice this time. We are going to be stuck with him.
To: Torie
You are right, he( Green) is better than Dinky or Ferrrrrrerr

BTW, Eddie Koch endorsed that fake, phony, fraud Ferrer.
A LOT of black eyes tonight.
To: Torie
Ferrer pulled in at least 15 % of the white vote, apparently. Mostly upper west side liberals, I guess. ..Youre right , it was real close. Good thing, Ferrer would make Lindsay look like a savior. But I'm not sure how much better Green is, though..
To: Torie
Green must have gotten 90% of the white vote. Before Sept 11, I would have bet large money that Ferrer was in like flint.

..but I suspect he will be a reasonably competent managerI dont think he's managed anything in his life, though. Of course , he can thank Staten Island and much of Queens for his victory, so maybe he will govern accordingly. We'll see.

Mark Green is odious and repellent, and I never thought I'd see the day when I'd say I was glad he'd won something. In this case, I am glad. Ferrer wasn't that bad, and may actually have been better in some ways, but his going out and sucking up to Al Sharpton told you all you need to know about him. Glad he lost.

I think Green started running for Mayor's office when he was about 12 years old. Hard to believe he will finally get in.
He'll be a disaster, by the way. Count on it.
