Special: Leak To Washington Post Is....
Military Naval Admiral/ Security Paper | 10-10-01 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 10/10/2001 2:35:17 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

I do not know whether this has been posted here through another source or is being pulled in threads or not. But through military sources and a private document I saw with my own eyes 2 names have been listed as the leak to the Washington Post. p> Sen. Orrin Hatch Republican from Utah and Senator Diane Feinstein Democrat from California. If this is pulled I will understand. This source is 100% accurate. I am currently writing a piece on our national security at this current time for one of the papers I write for. This is bound to come out soon. So I figured I would post this here first.

Hatch has his BCCI buddies to keep happy.

This was worth repeating. He's definitely "compromised".

If what you are saying is true, these people need to be rounded up and locked away for awhile to consider the possible repercussions of such actions and the unnecessary risks created by their stupidity. At the very least, they should be cut off from receiving any further classified information and smacked around for a couple of hours in a small, dark room. >>>>>>

Occam's listen for a second here. I agree with what you are saying 100%. But sink to reality for a second. The military has its share of rank dictator's, ego maniacs, and morons. There is the majority that does nothing more than give background and some good history on events that might not have ever been told or seen. They respect everything to do with their code of honor. Then we have the other extreme who love their country just as much as the next in their outfit but never shut up about what they know or heard or have seen.

It has been going on for years. Just look at the "sources" you never see on any of the networks. People in the military love to leak. No secret history here. But maybe at a time like this there should be more caution. He knew I was harmless in many cases. That I was just doing a historical piece on lapses in our security within our own government. That is how this thing started to begin with. Besides I did not run here to post this as soon as I had it. I actually had it for almost 36 hrs and did not say a word about it. Posted it because from what I was hearing..the NY Post was ready to jump on it and I was not sure if they had yet or not because I had not been online today to check.

I appreciate you posting this "breaking" news. When it does go public, maybe you can fill us in, on a few more details.

Good find and I'm glad you remembered your favorite site to pass along this info. I hope it will be confirmed. Do you have any opinion is Warren's name was added to Diane's due to his earlier, too frank comments, and then added to Diane's now to help give her some bi-partisan cover for her huge mistake? After all, it is the Washington Post.

From post #70 article - Feinstein criticizes briefing restrictions.

The senator suggested the administration should discover the person who leaked the classified information and make its concerns clear. "But one person's inappropriate statements should not disrupt" the traditional briefing system, Feinstein said. "I hope the president cancels his directive."

Geddy, does this tell you anything?

This entire thread is just what it appears to be, a slander-chocked trick bag for anyone that falls into it.

I for one have talked to one editor I work in contact with and he doesn't plan on doing anything with the story I have added to until the time is right.

Maybe the editor should teach him how to write a coherent and grammatical sentence.

And he claims to be a journalist!

Can he spell h-o-a-x?

LOL!!! President Bush doesn't blame Sen. Orrin Hatch as the one in Congress with loose lips that might sink ships, administration sources say. In fact, an earlier tirade by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld against those who are careless with classified data — which national media said had targeted Hatch, R-Utah — wasn't aimed at him at all, said Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, Pentagon spokesman.

Re Post #71

Senators have immunity from arrest while Congress is in session.

"They shall in all Cases except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses..." Article 1 Section 6.

Dear Headache... for whatever it is worth, the media should identify the leaker as a matter of importance to the nation, and you can tell your editor I said so.

This might just uplift the reputation of the press in the eyes of the public, and might also stop any congressidiots from having the nerve to pull a stunt like this again!

(The idea of being "outed" as a leaker of classified info in a time of war would make those who are trying to curry favor with the press pause a minute and think of the consquences!)

This goes beyond party politics, and is a matter of national loyalty. Whoever the scum is, and the matter leaked is not the 100% retaliation story, (according to Wendell Golier on Fox news, but something that would have endangered our sons and daughters is the military) and fortunately the Post didn't print it...

I think public humiliation in the press is called for, and the culprit should be shamed by being named, and in my dreams, I see him or her wearing duct tape over all cranial orifices for the duration of his/her term, or until recalled by his/her constituents...

Just my 2 cents...

I wanted to slap Feinswine when she remarked that a senator had made an "inadvertant remark" to the press!

Good thing not everyone has joined the 'lynch-mob of public opinion' on this.

I have warned everyone to utilize COMMON SENSE, and do not get sucked into a slander suit.
