The very day Rush finally told the world why his voice sounded different, after denying it did sound different, and before I knew he'd told the world, I was struck by the knowing that he hadn't squared with us on what was going on with his voice, and to be quite honest, it made me mad. A lot mad. People don't like knowing they're being given untruth, and this is the truth detector doing it.

Then I signed onto Drudge and saw the headline about Rush, read it in horror, and had some insight into why he kept saying there was nothing wrong. But two things (after extreme sadness) continually emerge in my thoughts: Rush needed to seek medical care but he didn't need to pretend there was nothing wrong with his voice -- there clearly was and we all heard it -- instead telling us that our radio signal receivers might be out of phase; and, I wonder how many more people could have been praying for him -- in the millions, I dare say -- if he'd put out this awful news sooner.

I wish and pray the best for Rush; I think it would be AWESOME if God did choose to heal The Great One's hearing. But whether He does or not, Rush is a human being who needs to know he is loved, regardless of his performance. And I think that just might be the one most wonderful thing about this -- that Rush will finally have an opening to receive back from all the people he's blessed and trained and brought up out of the dungheaps of liberal groupthink. But without so much distance between the Great One and the little people.

Rush is in my prayers. I have been a listener since 1989. Rush has what it takes to overcome the challenges of this new physical thorn. He is resourceful, hopeful and an American hero. God bless you, Rush!

This is such sad news. But, in true 'Rush style', he is handling this with such class and courage. No matter what is going on inside, Rush remains constant on the outside. If anyone can find a way to turn lemons into lemonade, Rush can.

Our local morning talk show host frequently says he owes Rush a debt of gratitude because of what he did for AM and talk radio. Today he said, "Rush is to talk radio what Elvis was to Rock n Roll". Most appropriate.

I was taking my 17 year old son out for lunch at a new restaurant while Rush was telling on his radio show about his hearing loss. We sat in the car and listened before we went in to eat. When I got home I emailed Rush, telling him how much we love him and he is in our prayers.

Rush is in my prayers. I cannot imagine how hard this is for him....no music! He also kept me going especially during the early Clinton years, when all the major news people were acting like Clinton was the second coming. For that alone, I will always be grateful.
