If for ANY reason Rush might be away for 30 days...

Posted on 10/08/2001 7:45:42 AM PDT by Tumbleweed_Connection

If for any reason Rush might be out for maybe 30 days, if given a choice, who would you select as the four week replacement?

We have heard many different people, from Matthews to Williams. What does the person you selected have to offer over and above the other candidates? And how would Rush be missed?

Geddy Lee is irreplacable. Especially with Sean Hannity. He gets very annoying after a while and he is just an awful bass player.

Ann Coulter filled in for Michael Medved last week and was great. Talk radio is a natural for her take-no-prisoners approach.

As an example - she was pushing for repeal of the amendment that gave women the right to vote. How's that for red meat?

Our local morning host Tony Macrini WNIS Norfolk, VA. This guy is not only very funny but he is also intelligent, takes lots of calls and has excellent debate with callers. He is also a former Marine and has extensive knowledge of the military and history. He's terrific.

How about a permanent replacement? Since the addition of 'continual arrogance' to his voice, I have been unimpressed. He never really even sounded saddened by the tragedy on 9-11. Just smug. Oh well.

How about Bill Press (sarcasm). I think Hannity or Walter Williams would do just fine.

OH! you mean Rush Limbaugh!

In that case, My vote goes for Ron Smith or Bruce Elliott. Both local hosts from WBAL in Baltimore. Ron Smith is on from 3 PM to 6 PM on weekdays and Bruce is on from 8 AM (or is it 7?) to 11 AM Saturday mornings. I prefer either over Rush. I'm sorry to say, but I think Rush is a little stale.

How about Rush's brother David Limbaugh?

Can there be any doubt but Terrible Ted Nugent!

I didn't think so.

At a time of war who could be better

Think of how really pissed off the liberals would be with Ted's war-hawking. If you have never heard Ted's commentaries on the radio I feel sorry for you.

I would prefer Walter Williams. NOT Tony Snow, for sure. Maybe a little Hannity, but I view him as being more of a "shock jock" than a deadly serious right wing journalist/talk show host. Were Bob Grant of WOR not such a rude, egotistical, obnoxious jerk,, I'd like to see him fill in for Rush on occasion too. Just take what he says with a grain of salt because on occasion, he's just dead wrong, like in his recent discussion of the writings of Nostradomous.
