Sr. Lucy Receives New Message
Diocese Report ^

Posted on 10/07/2001 4:41:26 PM PDT by HapaxLegamenon

Michael Matt, editor of the Remnant a traditionalist Catholic newspaper published the following report on their website. We have been informed by a reliable contact in France that Sister Lucy (the only surviving seer of the Fatima apparitions) has delivered a message to Carmelite sisters in France. According to this report, Sister Lucy recently received another communication from the Mother of God. In the wake of that communication, we are told, Sister Lucy has asked Carmelite sisters throughout the world to pray specifically on the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary for a special intention. That intention is, we are told, that the world might be spared “a blood bath.” Whether this has any connection to the impending war with Islamic terrorists, we have no way of knowing. Though our French source is reliable, we have not been able to confirm this report ourselves, and are now in the process of trying to do so. At least two Carmelite convents in the United States have indicated to us that they have NOT received such a message. One Carmelite convent, however, did confirm that they did receive a letter from the Asociatcion Ntra. Sca Del Rosario in Fatima Portugal (dated September 13th, 2001), which did call on the Carmelite order to unite with Sister Lucy in praying for peace in the world on October 7—the Feast of the Holy Rosary. In this letter (written in Spanish) there was no mention of a recent communication to Sister Lucy from Our Lady, nor was there reference to a “blood bath.” We are presently waiting for the text of the French version. In any event, we believe that, because time is short between now and the Feast of the Holy Rosary, it would be a good idea for all Catholics to join the Carmelites in praying for this intention on tomorrow’s Feast. Such an intention is a certainly most worthy, especially right now; so even if this French report turns out to be somehow exaggerated, the intention is still well worth remembering during this critical hour of unrest and uncertainty in the world.

ON OCTOBER 7, the first Sunday of October in the year 1571, Don Juan of Austria gained his famous naval victory over the Turks at Lepanto. In thanksgiving for this event, which he attributed to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin through the recitation of the Holy Rosary, St. Pius V instituted an annual feast under the title of Our Lady of Victory. His immediate successor, Gregory XIII, changed the title to that of the Rosary, and granted its Office to all churches in which there was an altar dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary. In 1716, the army of the Emperor Charles VI, under Prince Eugene, gained a remarkable victory over the Turks near Belgrade, on the Feast of Our Lady of the Snows, at a time when the members of the Society of the Holy Rosary were offering solemn prayers in Rome. Soon after, the Turks were forced to raise the siege of Corcyra. Clement XI, in memory of this, extended the feast of the Most Holy Rosary to the Universal Church. Benedict XIV caused an account of all this to be inserted into the Roman Breviary, and Leo XIII raised the feast to the rank of a feast of the second class. He also added the Litany of Loreto the invocation: Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us. In 1961, the title of this feast became: Our Lady of the Rosary. According to a venerable tradition, the devotion of the Holy Rosary was revealed to St. Dominic by the Blessed Virgin. PRAYER: God, fill us with Your grace. We know the Incarnation of Your Son by the message of an Angel. Through the intercession of Mary may we obtain the glory of the resurrection through Christ's Passion and Cross. Amen. The letter posted by Proud2bRC asks that the Rosary be prayed around the clock on the 7th for (1) an increase in grace, (2) the remission of sins, and (3) the final triumph of the Holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

That is close enough for me. A feel vindicated. I was accused of being schismatic just for believing in Fatima. Incredible!

In any case, Thank You!

"The Church has not yet spoken", etc. as those Catholics who think Women ordinaiton, abortion, homosexuality, and contraception> are still open questions.

I thought the Church was clearly against those things, well I guess I need to read more....(sigh)

Jacinto and Francisco were beatified by Pope John Paul II in May of 2000, so that makes Fatima authentic in my book.

Of Course the Church has spoken on these things. But the people who do not like Fatima, pretend that the Church has not spoken.

What a bunch of superstitious nonsense.

Don't waste your time praying to Mary or any other people. They can't hear you.

John.14

[6] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, (NOT MARY) the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

It is a waste of time calling upon Mary. She can't hear you anyway unless they are suggesting that the Word of God is untrue. The dead don't communicate with the living.

Luke 16:19-31

[19] There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

[20] And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

[21] And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

[22] And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

[23] And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

[24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

[25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

[26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

[27] Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

[28] For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

[29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

[30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

[31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

For Christians the mediator betweenus imperfect mortals and God is Jesus. Not Mary or anyone else. To state otherwise calls God a liar.

1Timothy 2:5

[5] For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

For Christians it is the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost who intercedes on our behalf:

Rom.8:26

[26] Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

God cannot lie, but imprefect mortals can lie:

Titus 1:2

[2] In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

I don't see Catholicism as Christian, however it is not my place to evaluate their salvation. I can only point out where Catholicism is in disagreement with the Word of God.

Catholics, do Christians a favor and DON'T pray to Mary or any other imperfect dead mortals. We really need God on our side. We don't want Him pissed off at your superstitious idoltry.
