My son was watching the rap-up of the Brown's game...when the news announced that a plane had landed that was not suppose to have landed in, Cleveland. Nothing else followed.

Another Florida connection to all these events. Let's hope it really is unrelated. Nevertheless, stay alert. As the government said, the likelihood of further attacks by terrorists is 100%.

observation......from Cleveland. I noticed that there were no commercial flights in the air since the bombing started. As of 5:18 pm I have only seen one, I am in a major flight path. Also I heard from San Diego and Dallas that no commercial flights were in the air near them as well. Could be a precaution, they may start up once things are secure. Anyone else notice this from elsewhere?

Former Clevelander here too (Cleveland Rocks), now in Arkansas. Keep me informed of what's going on at Hopkins. Hope it's a false alarm!

FWIW: Just stepped in--been outside working since the end of the victorious Browns game.
I live out in the sticks of central Ashtabula county, nothing but sky and trees in view.
Thought it strange, no contrails. Not even the long distance ones.

Cleveland.....brief update. unattended bag left at the Southwest air ticket counter. Security guard tending it. Most likely just a scatterbrain considering the earlier events.

"I have seen the terrorist. And he is us."
We are causing far more panic and terror ourselves than the terrorists are. Running out of buildings at the slightest hint of a threat, closing airports because of some senile codger who forgot to pick up his bag, misinterpreting everyday events in light of their possible connection to recent events...
I'm not even sure there NEEDS to be another attack on U.S. soil. We are chasing our tails around here. I hope it calms down. I hope our mission in Afghanistan bears fruit.

I don't know if this was posted- but here's what I found out:
Cleveland.com story
Potential security breach closes Hopkins' concourses
Johanna Hoadley
October 7, 2001
A potential security breach shut down two concourses at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport today.
Concourses C and D were closed at about 2:45 p.m. when readings on a passenger going through security indicated possible explosives, reported WKYC TV 3. The passenger was apprehended after passing through security and cooperated fully with authorities.
According to WKYC, the concourses, which are used by Northwest and Continetal, were searched by law enforcement and nothing was found.
Both concourses are expected to re-open at 7 p.m.
