I have just been informed (and apparently it is on Houston TV) that our FRiend, Herb Meadows, aka "CHIEF negotiator" was the victim of an intentionally set fire. He was murdered, in other words.

I am, of course, well beyond outraged that some low life scumbag would take Herb's life in such a heinous manner, and hereby publicly vow to ensure that his death does not go unavenged. Justice will prevail!

Having said that, I am, fellow FReepers, in a raging "eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth mode!"

Not a chance. Check some of the detailed posts on the earlier threads. Chief Negotiator was in the bathroom when the explosion happened. This was arson-murder pure and simple.

When I told my husband about Chief's death, he tried to tell me it sounded suspicious. I didn't want to believe that. I wish he was wrong. :(

CHIEF negotiator, though he was extraordinarily proud of his service as a U.S. Marine Recon Sniper, did not have a gun in his house. He did not, therefore, reload.

My condolences to his family. I enjoyed reading CHIEF Negotiator's articles on taxes, and was reading his Marine thread apparently just hours before the "accident".

He was a good Marine and Patriot, and he will be missed.

According to news accounts he was in another room(Than his wife) watching TV when this occurred. He ended up in the bathroom as he was headed for the back way out of the house and could not see according to speculation in the articles.
