Rest in peace CHIEF.These photos were taken in CHIEF's back yard, after the BIGUN Golf Tourney, Liars Contest & Golf Cart Wheely Race on Thursday, May 25, 2000. We were looking forward to another such gathering in just a few weeks.
The best way that we can honor him is to carry on his fight to abolish the Income Tax and IRS. But, what this means is that each of us will have to do double duty to take up the slack, since he was such a prolific and well spoken advocate of abolishing the current incomprehensible tax system.
We'll miss you CHIEF.

It's nice to see photos of this man I never knew -- except by his posts and commentary on this site. Your loss must be very keen and I am sorry for you great patriots, losing your friend. God Bless You.

I really did support the idea of a Fair Tax and he was one of the people I got encouragement from to get further involved in the issue. Now I know I must.

Looks to me like CHIEF Negotiator robbed the cradle. What a lovely wife he has.
To: connectthedots
That "lovely bride" is my sister and Herb was my brother-in-law.I have to say that NO ONE knew the constitution like he did and no one loved it like he did.He raised my awareness of the constitution and how, as Americans,we were straying away from it.He would call me and say "Go see what I just posted" and I would. And then,I would start to think. He wasn't pushy or preachy..he just put the facts and the ideas out there for deliberate consideration. It is not often that a man can pursue his true passion...but Herb did.Sometimes to the frustration of others....we just couldn't figure out how he could sit at that damned computer for so long. But he did,and he changed thinking of good, but lazy,Americans.May he rest in peace and somehow see the turning tide that IS present in America now.It may be quirky, but when I learned of his death,my first thought was"Oh my God, he won't see us kick Osama Bin Laden's ass!"But then, maybe he will! Thanks Freepers..I'm saving all of these threads to show to Mrs. Chief when she is ready.

I barely knew you Chief , but I know you're lurkin' up there and in a way , I guess I feel good knowing you're on the job, helping to watch out for the Marines and FReepers and Friends and Family that will someday be able to join you.
I guess Heaven is 'Looking For A Few Good Men ', too, so perhaps you'll get your wish and get called into God's Elite Fighting Force to help us out down here -- So much evil in the world ; A little 'Air Support' would be much appreciated!
Hope I'm one of those lucky enough to catch up with you someday -- is it true there are no income taxes in Heaven?
Semper Fi, Herb. Put in a good word for me . .

Our lives were enriched by the hours he spent typing at his keyboard to us. FreeRepublic is a haven for passionate people like the Chief. Condolences to you and to Mrs. Chief Negotiator.

The hardest part about being a Freeper is that you make so many friends that it feels like you are always saying goodbye to someone. Prayers for the family.
