G-d bless his soul and prayers for his family. A very brave soul who sacrificed himself for the sake of others. He is honored here.

His place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

Rest in peace.

BCM was one of those that walked the walk as well as talked the talk.
He's a good example of what makes America great.
We will miss our brother FReeper.
Until we all meet again:

Salute!

As a retired State Trooper, I have never had more admiration for any group of men, then I have for the NYFD. They are heros, in DEED! God bless the fallen and protect the standing.

Actually, the memorial service for Chief Moran was on 9/28/01. It's just been confirmed that he was FReeper BCM.

I knew it had to catch up to FReeRepublic,,,sooner or later..there were just too many.

I know... I had a feeling that we would lose one or more of our FReepers in the 9/11/01 tragedy, in either NYC or Washington DC.

This is horrible... so sad. Doubly sad to lose one of our own FReepers, and to lose one of the incredibly brave men of the FDNY. I think I may have participated in a rally or two with Chief John Moran (BCM) in Times Square.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. BCM will be sadly missed here at Free Republic.

My thought exactly. Almost too much to take in one day, but we must persist! Above all else, we must persist!

My prayers are now with BCM and his family, as well as CHIEF negotiator and his family.

Too devastating bits of news today, wow.

My prayers to him and his family. BCM is now a certified hero, and we will remember him that way.
