Since so many on here are 'pairing off' into their own generational groups...and I cannot join any of them because I a member of the loathed GenX group, *I* am going to start a thread of my own, featuring MY website. JimRob, if this is not suitable for your site, I understand if you take it off, but I cannot help myself. The others are having just too much fun!
So, my fellow 80s children, what was your fav music/event/fashion/movie from the decade that featured the best darn President of the 20th century, Ronaldus Magnus????
You'll have to go to my website to see mine!! *wink* *wink*!! LOL

Speaking of a TI99/4a - did anyone here ever own the cool speech synthesizer module that plugged into the side of it? Or the Intellivoice for Intellivision... "Mattel Electronics Presents - B 17 Boooommmmmber"
Born in 1971. Man, I loved the 80's. From what I can remember of them ;-)

Night Flight RULED...I would fall asleep watching it. remember the Friday Night Concerts with the Tubes and Quiet Riot? WHy can't they bring back that sutff, or sell it on video. I relaize there is no answer to the question. There is an answer to that question. Night Flight didn't own the rights to show some of the stuff they aired. In order to re-air ( or legally sell the show now ), they would have to secure the rights to those shows and get new rights to the ones they did have back then. Many movies and TV series now are having problems being released on DVD or VHS because of the same issues. And that's just with dealing with one company. Think how hard it would be with hundreds like Night Flight would have to.
Here's a link to Night Flight.
Not the greatest site, but about the only NF site in town.

The 80s were the height of civilization. It's been downhill since.

I don't know how this post rose from the dead, but SCTV is being released on DVD in a couple of months. Thye had the same music problem, they didn't pay for the stuff they used at the time.

SCTV. I remember it well. I saw some episodes a few years ago and forgot how dated it was. Martin Short had allot to do with those. But my favorite had to be John Candy playing Tatoo and getting drop kicked on their "Fantasy Island". Or John as Johnny LaRue and of course finally as the Beaver, where he shot Eddie Haskell for being gay. And I loved Andrea Martin as Connie Frankin ( a takeoff of Connie Francis ) , "The World's Most Depressing Singer". I'll think of tons more that will come to me later. In some ways I liked it better than SNL.

Amen to that!!! I just wish I had appreciated it more.I was lucky that I appreciated it all I could. Movies were much better, music was better, there wasn't near the conformity there is now. It's amazing how so many have the same look these days. Men with the tattoos, the same beard trim. Women all dress alike with the same jeans and hair. Everyone with an SUV. Seems like people weren't afraid to be themselves in the 80s.

Thanks but no thanks. I'll keep my leather. A) This girl is lovely and quite a knockout.
B) You of all people are the last one who should complain about anachronistic attire.
