Since so many on here are 'pairing off' into their own generational groups...and I cannot join any of them because I a member of the loathed GenX group, *I* am going to start a thread of my own, featuring MY website. JimRob, if this is not suitable for your site, I understand if you take it off, but I cannot help myself. The others are having just too much fun!

So, my fellow 80s children, what was your fav music/event/fashion/movie from the decade that featured the best darn President of the 20th century, Ronaldus Magnus????

One of the best things I remember about the '80s (aside from being in my teens and 20's during them, with all that that implies) was entering a gun shop in a mall (in NEW YORK, of all places) and exiting with a semiauto Ruger 10/22 with folding stock, two 30-shot magazines, and flash supressor, all for less than $200.00, at age 18.

The country was just a bit freer then.

Oh, and having an endless supply of headbanger chicks around didn't hurt, either.

I didn't wear anything BUT Ocean Pacific shirts in high school...they pretty much replaced Hang Ten as the trend du juor.

Iron Eagle II had some good stuff, too. "Chasing the Angels" is a good song for yankin' and bankin' to.

Intellivision - "Disks of Tron", which I think must have come with the console. It was actually kind of fun.

I had a C64, though, which was the best thanks to the vast numbers that were sold, meaning pirated software was plentiful. I did have a couple of games I actually bought, though, like JumpMan (by ???). Got a lot of gameplay out of that one. Anyone remember Space Taxi? First home video game that used digitized speech that we had seen. We just loved that little guy and his "Hey, taxi!".

Wonderful decade because it was led by Ronald Reagan and expanded our possibilities. It ended the Soviet Empire/Cold War and the Cold War and expanded the economy like never before. The sense of freedom and a hopeful future was in the air.

Amadeus, Raging Bull, and a very few others stand out as worthy films.

Top Gun had some good stuff, too. "Mighty Wings", "Danger Zone", "Through the Fire", and "Playing With the Boys" ALL have stuff to yank and bank to.
