The nerve of that Marine Corps recruiter telling me I'll too old to re-up!
I said,
"But I'm a 2nd Force Recon Scout Sniper that can still pic-a-tic off a gnat's ass @ 1K meters, in a snow storm! We lay-in-wait, and over the last 30 years I've had a lot of experience. Snipers only need to be able to "snoop & poop" and carry a 50 caliber. We don't have to do 50 squat thrusts before lights out, or hump 20 miles in full pack before sunrise! Put me up against your best 20 year old. It takes a lot to get a snipers heartrate up, 'cause we've been trained to "relax" if you want "one shot -- one kill", and I invented "relax". I'll die my hair to cover the gray, get lippo-suction and a face-lift, if you can push this paperwork through, Sergeant."
He didn't go for it. Should I lie about my age?

What's even worse, is that most LEAs or law enforcement agencies do not hire anyone under 37 years old. There are literally thousands of individuals out there that are between 45 and 55 years old that are more than capable of serving in any role or security capacity. This is total Bull Sh*t.

Thanks, Sunny
A few others even older than me wanted to re-up, in order to tapdance on 'OSlimyBeenRotten's skull- noggin.
If I grabbed that SOB, I'd want to put an American Made round through his head, but I'm being selfish. I would let the MF loose in ground Zero, and let all the FireFighters and Police do their number.
The only way to put an end to terrorism is to ~~~SHOCK~~~ the terrorists! Dis-member the SOB, video tape it, and send the tape to every country on the planet!
My .02 cents.

There are no "ex-marines." There are fellows who wanted to be Marines who exited with a BCD, that's as close as it gets. The rest, God bless 'em, are Marines until the day they die.
Semper Fi, baby.

CHIEF, this evening I received the following e-mail with an excellent solution as to what to do to OBL!!
Poetic Justice, or what to do with bin Laden?
Killing him will only create a martyr. Holding him prisoner will inspire his comrades to take hostages to demand his release.
Therefore, I suggest we do neither. Let the Special Forces, Seals or whatever covertly capture him, fly him to an undisclosed hospital and have surgeons quickly perform a complete sex change operation.
Then we return her to Afghanistan to live as a woman under the Taliban.
Sweet thought, is it not?!!

Patriot's post from earlter thread:
Well, I guess I got to this thread a few days late, but I knew if I kept reading I would find your input, Don. I am extremely proud and honored to have earned the title "United States Marine".
I transferred to the FMCR in '92 after 22 years. Got my transfer to the retired list earlier this year. I have felt so LEFT OUT since September 11th.
I got an email from another retired Marine and told him I wish I could go back and be a part of this effort to actively protect our country.
He directed me to the official Marine Corps website. I went there and sure enough there is a link for retired Marine to volunteer for recall to active duty!!
After getting clearance from "COMMARFORKITCHEN" (my wife), I clicked on the link and officially volunteered for recall to active duty!
Now I've got to get off this dadgum computer and get my fat ass out and running to get back in shape!!

I haven't found a Marine yet, that didn't try to re-up!I'm the proud Mom of a Marine Sergeant who re-upped three years ago and plans on making the Marines a lifetime career. He had the opportunity to get out in his first two years, due to knee and shoulder surgeries from basic training injuries...but humped it thru rehab without a complaint.
Just before he re-upped, he broke his hip and pelvis in a motorcycle accident. Again, they gave him the opportunity to get out...and again he refused. I gave him a hard time.... but his response is "Aw Ma, I'm okay...and I have to do what I have to do." Marines are a special breed! Gotta love 'em!

The knowledge of my brothers, that have 20-30-40 years of experience, is wasted.
To: CHIEF negotiator
Anyone know what the top age is for Marines to go back ? I'm 30 .... if not them then maybe the State Guard ?
To: LaineyDee
Please tell your son I said:
"Thank You for your service to our country."

Thank him for me too! Semper Fi
and buy him some kevlar underwear, he's running out of spare parts.
To: LadyX
I'm a old-fashioned guy. If I were president,I'd have his head and the heads of his lt's brought back to me,and I'd mount them all on the White House fence to send a message to people everywhere about what happens when you screw with the USA. Then again, this is just one of thousands of reasons why nobody would ever elect me president.
To: CHIEF negotiator
The knowledge of my brothers, that have 20-30-40 years of experience, is wasted. I agree. There is no way in hell people like me could go operational anymore, but I could damn sure teach some of the younger guys some "tricks of the trade". People like us that learned under the gentle (?) guidance of the WW-2 and Korean War combat vets just might be the "shake-up" the modern military needs.
To: sneakypete
in regards to dan rather, remember that the Marine Corps threw him out of boot camp in WW11. Also, i recommend that all former servicemen watch the C-span hearing in the House of Representatives today on terrorism. It was quite chilling to watch a tape compiled by a journalist as to how the terrorists have established bases in this country. I recommend this hearing to all who have served this great country. Will do! *chuckle* I'll remind him about the kevlar underwear. He's becoming the Million-Dollar Marine!
