The ENEMY within: David Hackworth takes aim at Maher, Madonna, Fonda, Donahue

The enemy within

© 2001 WorldNetDaily.com

When Jane Fonda visited North Vietnamese army troops while our GIs were being killed by those she was comforting, we tagged her "Hanoi Jane."

Now she and other Vietnam-era war protesters are back at their divisive, feckless game. They and their latest recruits apparently can't compute that our country has just been assaulted by madmen as bad as Hitler's worst.

Self-appointed geo-strategist Fonda, commenting about the attack that killed more than 6,000 civilians in New York City alone, has already concluded, "It would be a mistake for America to retaliate militarily."

Fonda, a born-again loose cannon concerned about "the saber rattling and calls for vengeance,'' is urging people to "try to understand the underlying cause of the crime.''

Right – and while we're turning the other cheek, terrorists will be taking out the Statue of Liberty.

Where do we get such wrongheaded, solipsistic Looney Tunes?

Want more?

Self-anointed Saint Madonna – not exactly known for her vows of poverty, chastity or acts of humility – is praying for peace while paraphrasing her apparent role model, Mother Teresa. "Violence," she says, "begets violence."

Try that one from the Material Girl out on the families whose loved ones didn't come home from work on Sept. 11. Or the orphans who want their moms and dads to hold them and tell them it's all been a bad dream.

Phil Donahue remained true to his hippy roots when he argued on television that "the memory" of those killed in the attacks wouldn't "be honored by going out and killing other civilians."

Bill Maher put the icing on the appeasement cake for all his pacifist pals when he announced: "We have been cowards. Lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away, that's cowardly. Staying on the airplane when it hits the building, say what [you] want about it, [is] not cowardly."

Mr. Maher, check out how that message went down with the rescue crews digging through smoking ruins with their bare hands, searching for survivors, while you were pontificating on prime time. Ask the widows of the firemen and policemen who paid the ultimate price about who's cowardly and who's brave.

Besides big mouths, what these celebrities have in common is that they all live in secure palaces where even their servants have access to gas masks. They're about as connected to the American people and the enormity of this tragedy as the terrorists themselves.

My wife, the former flower child, supposes that they might be so into denial they can't accept the hard truths that on Sept. 11, American civilians suffered almost three times the deaths inflicted upon our soldiers and sailors at Pearl Harbor, and that our very survival is at stake.

Whatever their hang-ups, one would think that even these high-profile yo-yos would get their acts together enough to support protecting their fellow Americans from clear and present danger. But the clueless celebs keep compulsively stirring the peace protest pot – even though their calls for pacification amount to providing aid to an implacable enemy whose publicly avowed purpose is to destroy our land of the free.

For sure, lots of rats are rolling in the aisles in Kabul and Baghdad while watching these clowns rant and rave on the tube. And the word from many who fought to preserve the Constitution, which gives these wonders the right to make fools of themselves, is that their treachery is over-the-top. That now, more than ever, we need to be a country united – not torn apart as we were over Vietnam, when protests aimed at the troops caused far more deaths by destroying our soldiers' will to fight.

Our privileged betrayers should ask what the world would be like had the USA not stood tall in the 20th century. Then, if they like the answer, they can go visit the Taliban – as Fonda did the NVA.

David Horowitz, a Vietnam-era peacenik, said, "If I have one regret from my radical years, it is that this country was too tolerant towards the treason of its enemies from within."

We can and should dissent when it's appropriate – but our first priority must be to secure Fort America from future strikes. Until then, we need to rally round the flag and practice unity, not division.

And, as we used to say in Vietnam: "Stay alert, stay alive."

" "They're all preoccupied with celebrity,".......

I'm afraid it's much worse than that...
This evening, FOX had that moron Al Sharpton on television - pontificating on subjects for which he should never be asked an opinion. Just WHO the hell is Sharpton? He came to fame - defending a lying black bitch, over false rape charges that resulted in his sorry ass getting sued. Certainly he has NO SINGLE accomplishment that warrants shoving his stupid, racist, opportunistic face into America's living rooms.

Does black America REALLY accept this "man" as their spokesperson? I rather doubt it...

I heard Maher let his alligator mouth overload his tweetybird butt again Monday night after the game. I watched Nightline tonight and afterward, our local ABC affiliate had an INFOMERCIAL on the air!!!

Great news.

Monday night was the last straw for WCHS-TV8. To the staff & management of this Charleston, West Virginia station, a big FR Salute!

Perhaps other freepers in the area could give them some thanks and encouragement. Thanks for the info.

Exile and execution should always be available for seditionists and traitors in a time of war. I'm sure there are plenty of people that would LIKE to become American citizens and proud of it.

Sounds about standard. The 4 to 1 format is cast in stone.

Do you remember any advertisers?

Since he is the most decorated soldier in history,

NO,he is NOT. He even KNOWS he isn't "the most decorated living soldier",never mind the most decorated US soldier in history. He obviously wants people to think this since he never bothers to correct them. Then again,Hackworth is a former career officer who somehow "mistakenly" got confused about being authorized to wear the "Ranger" tab and a few othere doo-dahs,and had to alter his web site to take them off his A&D list after a few people got to checking his claims.

BTW,the man who is not only the "most decorated living soldier",but who is also the most decorated US soldier in history is LTC Robert Howard (retired). Hackworth knows this, too.

I guess that whatever he says

Well, given the above paragraphs, you figure it out. is right.

"Staying on the airplane when it hits the building, say what [you] want about it, [is] not cowardly."

Ok I'll say what I want...PIG'S ASS!!!

Sneaking up on and murdering innocent men, women and children in cold blood without having the balls to hang around and face up to what you've done is not cowardly?.....it bares repeating...PIG'S ASS!!!

When confronted by one of these "peacenicks" just reply:

"500 TONS"

When they ask what that means, explain that that is the weight of rotting human flesh under the WTC.

Without a declaration of war, traitors go unpunished. Sedition laws should always be avoided, or if necessary, made to apply most harshly to elected officials and government employees, both of whom are in a position to cause damage by their speech. Sedition laws are too easily abused by people in government who are prone to abuse power. This is why those laws are repealed after a war ends, because they conflict with the right of free political speech.

A declaration of war is the dividing line between treason and free speech. The President should press for a declaration of war to observe Constitutional rule and to bring treason into the jurisdiction of the military courts. Otherwise, prosecution is nearly impossible in many cases and improper in every case.

"Staying on the airplane when it hits the building, say what [you] want about it, [is] not cowardly."

I'd say its at least on a par with the violent husband who hunts down his fleeing wife who has filed for divorce only to gun her down & then put the barrel of the gun in his own mouth.

The TRUEST example of yellow bellied, yellow spined cowardice known to man!

We are appalled by the false claims that the teachings of Islam do not condone the acts of the terrorists

this, my friends, is truly the elephant in the living room.

A formal declaration of war is just that, a formality. Unfortunately, there is no clearly indentifiable enemy, since terrorists do not represent a specific country, entire group, or population. Also, they run and hide, and do not face the enemy on a battlefield wearing the uniforms of their cause or country. These individuals do not follow any conventional notions of warfare as we know it, so they cannot be considered soldiers. Furthermore, since they obey no laws, abide by no international agreements or conventions, or observe no limitations as to weaponry, tactics, or behavior, formal declarations of war and intent on our behalf are meaningless to them. As for domestic symapthizers and fellow travellers to their cause; I believe when the President and Commander In Chief declared that we were at war, a formal declaration of this fact could said to have already been given. Even without a state of war being declared, anyone who is proven to have treated, aided, or abetted an enemy of the United States should be considered as a traitor and dealt with accordingly. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed for treason although we were not at war with the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, later acts treason have not been punished as in the cases of Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanson, and these involved military secrets also given to nations we were not at war with.

No, it is not a mere formality. It is necessary for the US to wage a war. The President doesn't have Constitutional authority to conduct a war without a declaration and Congress has no authority to pass a War Powers Act allowing any such thing.

Vietnam was a textbook case of what happens when war is waged without a declaration. The President is hamstrung, and Congress gets to conduct the war by committee. Treason isn't punishable, and Congress becomes a cesspool of treason.

A declaration of war can be issued by Congress against those known to sponsor and commit terrorism, the Taliban government, Hamas, Hezbolla, and every other organization with a name. The US has declared war before on a gang of pirates. Treason in time of war is a hanging offense. With no declaration of war, people like Aldrich Ames go to prison. With a declaration of war, even a sitting Senator would hang for treason, and it would happen quickly by military tribunal.

You should read the US Constitution sometime. It's fascinating stuff, and it's roundly ignored by almost every elected official in the country.

The Civil War, the bloodiest conflict in all American history to date with total battle deaths higher than all other US wars combined, was never a declared war and no formal declaration of war was ever issued. Furthermore, people were imprisoned and even hung for treason during the war, in addition to the same for desertion and spying. You aren't qualified to lecture me about American history, the US Constitution, or the history of warfare. You are caught up in semantics and formalities. Formal war declarations have been ignored far more often than not, and most of our greatest conflicts and military campaigns have taken place without them. Again, treason and its consequences aren't predicated on war conditions. If it were the, aforementioned traitors wouldn't be in prison charged with that offense. The only item lacking is the will to enforce the maximum penalty, not a justification for doing such.
