Low Flying Plane Creates Concern Over Tulsa's Water Supply
A low flying plane created a concern in Tulsa after witnesses say it dropped something into Tulsa's water supply. The small plane flew over Lake Yahola near Mohawk Park around 3:45 Monday afternoon.
A plane has been detained at Jones Riverside Airport and the FBI is investigating. The instructor and student in the plane that was stopped say they were nowhere near the area.
As a precautionary measure, officials switched Tulsa's water supply to a flow line that runs from Lake Spavinaw. Samples have been taken from the reservoir and sent to a lab for testing to determine if any contaminants may have been introduced into the supply.

"...A plane has been detained at Jones Riverside Airport and the FBI is investigating. The instructor and student in the plane that was stopped say they were nowhere near the area..." One question...
Are they (or do they appear to be) Arabs?

How long before someone suggests that it's a Zionist conspiracy?

I hope it's a false alarm, stay vigilant!

A small package? How big is the resevor? If its sizable, a small package aint going to cut it, unless it's some super sci-fi fantasy mutagen or something...

prolly better to drink the water out of lake spavinaw than drink that red mud out of yahola, mohawk, keystone, or oolagah? right?

We need to stay on top of this one. The Bin Laden Gang has said in previous reports something most spectacular would happen in the next few weeks. Water supply or electricity is my guess(since airspace is pretty tight).

I'm glad to see that people have their eyes open for these possibilities.

We need to stay on top of this one. Why don't they just tell people if this is some bubba who got lost, or some camel-loving sand goblin flying the plane?

I'm not near Tulsa (I'm in West Texas), but about 5:30 this afternoon, I was driving home, and as I neared my home, I noticed people standing outside their homes gazing at the sky. I walked in the house, and my husband said two fighter jets, one following another, had flown fast and low over our house and made the windows and the wine glasses (hanging from a rack) rattle (and, no, I don't live in a trailer house--it's a solid brick). They were flying southbound, but turned back west before they went out of sight.

This happened in broad daylight. I would tend to think it is at least as likely to be a sick minded hoaxster who dropped something like a bag of sugar in the water, as a "real terrorist."
One thing we could use is constant camera surveillance of the air above potential trouble areas like this.

Actually, botulism toxin is one of the most toxic substances known to man. If several pounds of pure toxin was dropped in the reservoir right near the water supply intakes, the concentration could be more than adequate. The thing I don't know is if botulism toxin (the toxin, not the bacteria) could survive the normal clorination done with city water supplies.
Here's a FReep thread on botulism as a bioweapon:

Well that really tears it, doesn't it? Picture this, put a bounty on small planes.

One thing we could use is constant camera surveillance of the air above potential trouble areas like this. That would be very prudent at this juncture... an excellent idea and easy to implement.
