Unfortunately, too many people react on impulse and emotion.
I hope that an anti-Muslim backlash does not develop where innocent people are harmed. It makes our argument meaningless.
But! -- How in the world can anybody read what the Quran says about non-Muslims and not feel threatened?

Good point. Another point, how can any Muslim read what the Qu'ran says and not want to kill Christians and Jews? If they want to be "good" Muslims, then they must never take a Christian or Jew as a friend and must strive to either forcibly convert them, drive them from the land, or kill them.
