Official source regrets Berlusconi's Weird statements

9/29/2001

An official source expressed Egypt's regret over the Weird statements made by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in which he alleged that Islam is a religion that does not respect human rights, pluralism, tolerance and freedom of religion and that the Western civilization is superior to Islam.

"What is really strange is that the Italian Premier has expressed in his statements hope that the West would defeat Islam and its civilization," said the source.

"Berlusconi's statements are conflicting with what he himself and Italian President Carlo Azaglio Ciampi had mentioned during their recent meetings with President Hosni Mubarak last Tuesday," according to the official.

"These statements totally reveal incomplete knowledge of the tolerant teachings of Islam that call for peaceful coexistence amongst all peoples, irrespective of their creeds," added the source.

"Egypt is waiting for an urgent explanation from the Italian government for these weird statements and whether they represent the official viewpoint of a country supposed to be aware of the virtue of Islam and the values of the Muslim community," said the source.

Berlusconi's recent remarks drew a wave of repugnance and anger, not only amidst Muslim circles but also western circles as US President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair have voiced respect for the tolerance of Islam and for Muslims.

How much of what he said is wrong?

I suppose the trial of foreign missionaries is a good example of religious tolerance? How many Arabic countries tolerate Christianity? (which by nature is evangelistic) Or women's rights? or...

Italy's reply: Then I'm sure you will have no objection to Catholic missionaries arriving in Cairo to hand out free copies of the New Testament?

"These statements totally reveal incomplete knowledge of the tolerant teachings of Islam that call for peaceful coexistence amongst all peoples, irrespective of their creeds," added the source.

On the contrary ... the so called "Moderate" Muslim world has yet to prove any facts in the above claims that Islam teachings teach peaceful coexistance among all people, irrespective of their creeds."

Simply quoting the Quran proves this is not true ... Ever heard of "taxing" other faiths in the Bible? It's in the Quran ...

How many Islamic countries allow non-Islam's to practice their faith? zero

In contrast, all Christian nations and the one Jewish one do allow everyone to practice their faith.

Eqypt may be waiting for a "politically corrected" rebuttal and politics may give it to them but there is no argueing with the facts and the facts are on the side of the Italians in this one.

I guess this falls under the category that if you are not exposed to the truth for long periods to time it could indeed sound weird.

The more I read about Islam and look into it's history, the more convinced I am that I agree with the Premier. It would be nice if when he said "the west" he meant Italy.

How pathetic is it that our own leaders either don't share Berlusconi's views,
or don't have the stones to say so in public.

Maybe he changed his mind after they all met?

The fundamentalist IsLAME religion is a religion of the past trying to cling to its power over ignorant, poor, uneducated, opressed masses.

It is a religion whose leaders try to maintain political and economic, control, by teaching their adherents to hate. Teaching absolute nonsense, nazi-like, to stir up the ignorant, poor, dirty masses and keep control over them through ceaseless hatefull, and idiotic propaganda.

There is much in common in the brainwashing of fundementalist IsLAME, and Nazism and Communism -i.e take good people and turn them into animals. We have seen it before.

Hate everyone who is different, whether another IsLAME with a slightly different point of view, and certainly a non Islamic.

IsLAMIC fundementalism is religion of antagonism, not of peace.

If responsible Islamic leaders do not take a leadership role the war against the mad IsLAMIST, the entire Islamic world will be innahilated.

Because when a fundementalist Islamist get his hands on a nuclear or chemical weapon, he will not hesitate to use it.

The normal constraints of normal human thinking do not operate in such a person. Therefore the system of Mutuality of Danger, simply does not operate. The IsLAamist would accept a nuclear war in order kill his enemy regardless of cosequences to others. He acts entirely on behalf of his twisted religious conviction.

Therefore, is is absolutly mandatory to eliminate the IsLAMIST and ALL nations supporting them from the remotest capabilities of obtaining nuclear, chemical, or biologial weapons. Failure to do so now will lead to a catastrophe for the West, and total annhilation of the Islamic nations.

Bin Laden would have no hesitation to use a nuclear bomb on Israel, or America, without concern to the population or to the future of he Middle East. And I am afraid that the Palestinians are so full of hatred and religious delusions, that they probably welcome such suicidal attack.

Another Freeper (can't remember his/ her name, but a great observation) essentially asked, 'try naming a country with a Muslim majority that doesn't suppress people of other persuasions living under their rule.

All this PC propaganda about Muslims being tolerant, etc. is nothing but bucketfuls of slop.

These Third World creeps denounce the West more times in a day than they pray to their Fairy Tale in Mecca.

Has anyone in the West ever demanded an apology?

I was referring to your stupid remark.

Shooting off his wop mouth (like Italians usually do)

I'm not Italian, but when someone make a statement like the above one, I feel the need to point out the bigotry.

If you didn't notice, my posting was not directed as a racial slur against muslims or any other ethnic group. It was simply an observation of ideoligical issues. YOU however are throwing racial slurs. Grow up.
