I can sure understand skepticism.

Would concur if it were merely a handful of things.

But after studying the issue since Jr High--and seeing the march of history gain depth and breadth in terms of the percentage of Biblical prophecies displayed in the daily newspaper as well as the vast number of individual national and international events fitting in to Biblical prophecies as NO OTHER TIME in all of the last 2,000 years. . . it at least has become very interesting.

The Bible says He told us such things that we not be caught unaware. Evidently He wanted us to make good use of such prophecies. A TYPE II error is not inherently more righteous than a TYPE I error. . . . i.e. saying nothing is there when something is--is not inherently more righteous than saying something is there when there isn't anything there. Hope I didn't get my error types mixed up.

At this point, it seems to me that thousands of points of data concur that we are in the "generation" that will see all these things come to pass--beginning with the setting up of Israel "in a day" as the Bible specifically predicted. . . . in 1948.

EASILY CONCUR ABOUT BEING AGREEABBLE in tone and attitude.

Much appreciate such attitudes.

I just believe we do well to be more aware, knowledgeable and alert than probably any time in history. The methods, contexts, dynamics, technologies etc. useable by the enemy are more varied and more persistently, comprehensively applied than at other times.

And, certainly this is the time when lighted vehicles go to and fro on the earth as The Bible predicted. There's just toooo many things COMING TOGETHER in agreement regarding this time. The quantity alone, not to mention the quality of agreement seems several orders of magnitude different from ANY other earlier time. . . . to me.

Amen to your #43..I have been hearing that same message even before the tradgedy. A contrite heart the Lord hears, while pride brings destruction. And yes judgement starts in the household of the Lord..He is a just God..Many are confused between judgement and wrath. This was not God's wrath, had it been, there would have been no doubt.

Enjoyed your comments. Thanks.

I do believe the "thief in the night" thing is ONE specific event for our era. And even that is supposedly NOT meant to catch the alert, prayed up etc. believer unaware, off guard.

I think the priority is to walk so hand in hand with our Lord, The Father in His Spirit that whatever nudge He gives us in our spirits via His Spirit will be our command. Then we certainly need not fear anything.

Of course, He offers us PEACE beyond understanding and Joy unspeakable. . . . regardless of circumstances. . . Hard to lose regardless of events, timing or anything else.

STRONGLY CONCUR.

His wrath is coming. Discipline for The Church is first, if my sense is remotely accurate. And, I don't believe anywhere in The Bible is there an example of His Believers being appointed to His wrath. So, He must have made, be making provision for otherwise for those who Love Him and act like it.

Having been through more refiner's fires than I care to remember--and more devastations. . . . I can say--that even His most severe discplines have been HIS MERCY to me.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and you seem to have gotten hold of that.

The following is most comforting Word for you to enjoy...

1Thess 5:1 Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you.

1Thess 5:2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.

1Thess 5:3 While they are saying, "Peace and safety !" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child , and they will not escape.

1Thess 5:4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief;

1Thess 5:5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;

1Thess 5:6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.

1Thess 5:7 For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night.

1Thess 5:8 But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

1Thess 5:9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

1Thess 5:10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.

1Thess 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

1Thess 5:12 But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction,

1Thess 5:13 and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another.

1Thess 5:14 We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

1Thess 5:15 See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.

1Thess 5:16 Rejoice always;

1Thess 5:17 pray without ceasing;

1Thess 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

1Thess 5:19 Do not quench the Spirit;

1Thess 5:20 do not despise prophetic utterances.

1Thess 5:21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;

1Thess 5:22 abstain from every form of evil.

1Thess 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Thess 5:24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

1Thess 5:25 Brethren, pray for us.

1Thess 5:26 Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss.

1Thess 5:27 I adjure you by the Lord to have this letter read to all the brethren.

1Thess 5:28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Century after century of failed millenialism and other grand poofery while the deluded desperate still won't buy a clue. Simply amazing.

Sorry you feel that way. My conclusions are very different after 4 decades of studying such. This era is like no other in a very long, long list of ways.

Am surprised a person of your cleverness hasn't noticed that.

'This time it's different.' Heh. That's been said before, too. Don't you have anything better to do with your intelligence?

I can't tell from your response. . .

Have you ever examined the various periods to look at the differences between Biblical (or other, for that matter) prophecies and their correlations with various threads of evidence, data points--and current daily news items, events, contingencies, power centers etc.?

If so, how much time and detail did you get into?

Did you ever add in the various native cultures' predictions such as the Maya; various Native American cultures such as the Hopi etc? How do you explain that they all have common threads coming to a focus, a fulcrum in our era?

Or have you merely picked up, rather unexamined, a commonly tossed about refrain that seems to fit your preconceptions and philosophical biases?
