In light of the Daffodil Principle where individual efforts over time add up to a mammoth contribution, we are looking at ways to use this lesson as we seek to promote conservatism, the Republican Party and the administration of George Bush.
We are currently involved in a letter-writing campaign - Project Daffodil-Letters. Some of us have been involved in the Klamath Falls Petition, and the People First petition to defund the Endangered Species Act. HLL - I got that in my email recently - a refreshing angle, though it doesn't do much to diminish the pain. Maybe after more time has passed....

Thank you, jtill! Gosh, I'm gonna get a swelled head!! *G* Nah, I doubt it. Writers are woefully insecure about their work. It's never "good enough!" (Trust me!!) *VBG*

I JUST NOW figured out what you were talking about with your "e-mail address bar". How in the world are you going to say "All your chocolates are belong to Billie" anymore? :^)

Aye-eeeeeeeeeeeeee, Coby! *G* Nothing better than a mess of crawfish, boiled taters, and corn on the cob! You know of Jimmy C. Newman, I'm sure?! My first husband used to play drums for him; backstage at the Opry every weekend! "Jimmy C. Newman and Cajun Country!" Now he (and that whole set of band members, practically) are with Merle Haggard. Randy (Mason, my ex) plays drums and guitar on the CDs. And they tour with him too, of course. Randy's brother, Brent, is the "guitar god" now, here in Nashville. Since Chet died on my birthday. ;-{
Chet was a very nice man. I about fainted when he came into the Stagecoach Lounge to hear Brent again, and brought George Benson with him!! They sat with us!! I was about jumping up and down in my chair! (I rarely get all weirded out by the presence of a recording artist; second hubby was one, even, and I've met tons. But George Benson!! Wow!!)
Ayeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiii! ;-}

"Aye-eeeeeeeeeeeeee," You know, of course, that most people have never heard that sound!
It's hard to spell out.
Just so happens I'm making a big pot of seafood gumbo right now!
There's a little nip in the air in the morning, and that makes it gumbo weather.
I learned how to make Cajun from the experts in South Louisiana.

Paul Prudhomme in New Orleans, eat your heart out!I know that's right!! Best Cajun food I ever had was cooked up by Miss Mae (Jimmy C.'s wife). Their accordian player (cannot remember his name?!!) was darn good himself, too!! And the Manuel's have a Cajun restaurant here in Christiana, TN! The Manuels (Abe and Joe) are both with Merle now. Their folks own the restaurant.
Pinch tail and suck head! (JimRob, that is not a filthy sentence, I promise! Ask Coby! *G*) Aye-eeeeeeeeeeeee!!

To: Snow Bunny
I know how you feel. I would never go to anybody but Norma! Of course, now that she's going back and forth, that makes it more difficult. Oiks!! I guess I can share her with George Clooney and Andre Agassi if I have to. ;-}

I would
highly recommend all Americans watch
"Beneath the Veil, Women in Afghanistan" on CNN. It is something you will never forget. It will be engraved in me forever. It is an experience similar to the first time you learned about what Hitler did to humans in WWII.
President Bush refers the taliban as evil, I believe he was being kind. The taliban are devils, straight from he!!. You will never be able to forget. According to CNN's web site this airs at 10 p.m. EDT and PDT Sundays.
CNN link:
Beneath the Veil, Women in Afghanistan, click on 'story'
Here is the beginning text from the web site:
Ever since the Taliban took control of most of Afghanistan in 1996, the group has imposed its harsh version of Islamic law on the country. In "Beneath the Veil," journalist Saira Shah traveled to Afghanistan to see the effects of the Taliban's rule on her father's homeland. She discovered public executions, allegations of human rights violations like massacres and torture, and a place where women are forced to beg because they are prevented from working. But she also found that the first voices of protest come from the most repressed, including an opposition group that uses hidden cameras to film the executions.

G'morning, WIMom and everyone else. It's a gorgeous morning here. We're putting the finishing touches on a house today for putting it on the market tomorrow...heavy cleaning & landscaping to do. So I won't be around much today.
I did find this great article in the LA Times.
Bill Bennett: Faced with Evil on a Grand Scale, Nothing is Relative
(I'd appreciate someone taking this forward to Monday's thread)
Y'all have a terrific day! See you tonight.

Here's the
Free Republic thread on William Bennett's essay.
We must begin to have the courage of our convictions, to believe that some actions are good and some evil and to act on those beliefs to prevent evil. Comments like those are just what the PC, diversity-is-wonderful crowd hates to read.
To: Timeout, All Patriots
Good morning, and thanks for the link, "Good and evil have never gone away; we merely had the luxury to question their existence." What a defining sentence of most of our past forty years.
Have a great day, JL
