Banned from Demoncratic Underground ... for just being a Freeper
Mine
Posted on 09/29/2001 6:39:21 PM PDT by clamper1797
Yes ...its true. I discovered today that I have been banned from DU(h) simply for the following ....
Offense #1.
Replying to a post that was complaining that given the political atmosphere since 9-11 odds are that our country will probably have a Republican House, Senate, and President after the 2002 election. I replied ... one can only hope.
Offense #2.
Posting in my profile that my profile could be viewed at www.freerepulic.com
Thank the stars we have such a bastion of freedom and free thought like DU(h)

Guess I'll have to go get banned too. =)

I joined DU just to post an article the other night...five minutes after posting it (it would have taken less time had I used my FReeper name--they don't want anyone to know that hispana and republicana can be used in the same sentence) anyway, five minutes later, I was banned (my password no longer worked--I guess that's banned). My husband and I did a high-five (we considered it an honor or a right of passage or something). He was SO PROUD OF ME! He rewarded me with a sweet, connubial, legal-in-50-states-and-all-the-territories, Godly,.....night!

I was banned within 2 days of being there.
You won't change any minds over there, but the bottom line is that they are not even interested in any dicussion of the facts or the issues. You either toe their line or you don't belong.
It's their site and they can do what they want with it. But they are simply unprepared to confront issues in any meaningful or factual way. They're Democrats, after all. They're not interested in facts and they are fearful of confrontation, and don't know any other way but to ban people who don't agree with them. I disagree with the way they run the site, but that is their choice. I figure that if someone is respectful they should be allowed to stay, but they obviously see it differently. They are overprotective of their beliefs without the courage to confront an alternative view.
I'm not sure if Jim Rob would ban a democrat or a liberal from this site who was respectful but assertive. But I see many diverse views here, and many people disagree a lot, and are very willing to challenge each other without getting banned. I don't think the folks at DU are up for real debate, freeper style.

So they booted you off, huh? I bet they're over there howling up a storm over how "unfair" Maher is being treated, about how he is being viciously stripped of his First Amendment freedoms.
Dems are nothing if not morally bankrupt and intellectually inconsistent.
To: clamper1797
Given the caliber of people that regularly post there, are you really surprised?
Now watch some idiot DU lurker go running back to their pukey forum and complain that us mean Freepers laughed at them and their snotty rants and fascist thought control.
I'm betting that a lot of your fellow Clampers feel much the way you do. A cyber-Poker Run, with all of you continually logging in at DU, posting, then changing screen names as needed, would be a blast. You can even offer prizes for the most creative screen names, best posts, best comebacks, shortest time before being banned, etc.

That scum site doesn't deserve any more publicity than it's already gotten, I think they are intentionally anti-American and pro-murder just to attract attention. It's natural they resort to censorship as their positions are untenable.
Really I don't think we should mention it on FreeRepublic, they are a want to be FR but as they can't defend their Osama allegience they will just ban anyone with an intelligent or pro-American voice, therefore they will never attract an intelligent post. Let it die, don't even go back there.
To: monkeyshine
I agree..their site is pathetic! There is no evidence of intelligence over there..just whining, complaining and absolutely no humor or wit at all.
Of course, don't they say that a good wit is evidence of the highest level of intelligence?

I take great pride in being banned from DU. Secret .... I was going to start out easy and then turn the conservative volume up a little at a time just to see where the threshold was. It took one reply and two days after registering to get banned. I found it a lot faster than I even expected. That banning concreted my opinion that those people are nothing but a collection of hate everything about America losers that wouldn't know what free thinking really was if it bit them in the rear-end.

On the front page of DU, they have a article linked called 'The Unspoken Tragedy'. The blurb under it says 'We must remember that dissent is our birthright.' I guess that's another birthright denied at DU!

I bet they're over there howling up a storm over how "unfair" Maher is being treated, about how he is being viciously stripped of his First Amendment freedoms. Somewhat correct...but, they're also eating their own...calling WSJ's Posner a jerk, a phony, etc., for saying he was wrong about Pres. Bush. (He wasn't an a55hole or a phony when he helped take out an ad in support of Gore back in Nov.) Any "wise" or "good" Pres. Bush decisions are being attributed to his team or to Powell; conversely, the decision not to return to DC immediately on 9/11 is being attributed ENTIRELY to Pres. Bush. Typical hypocrites. "Bush sneezed during XYZ press conference...CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?" They are citing their DU posting guidelines about "personal attacks, etc." when you post something they don't like, but they are making personal attacks on Pres. Bush by calling him Chimp, etc. TYPICAL LIBERAL HYPOCRITE STUFF.

I joined about a week ago and was banned within 60 seconds. I posted that the WTC attack was masterminded by the Republicans and Jews. I called myself a good democrat and claimed that as a politically correct anti-Semite, I was convinced that dubya and Sharon had to be behind it.

I would think it is good to see what the other side is all about. Well I found out that they are all about ... nothing but hate America, hate Bush, hate freedom .... Hmmmm I guess it's really just about .... hate.

Being "banned" from a site involves either the sites use of cookies or the banning of an IP address. The site can also cancel a login and password. To enter the site again, create a new login and password. Delete the cookie from the site. Make sure you have logged out from your ISP and then log in again (changes the IP address since very few ISP's use static addresses, i.e. addresses that never change)then go at them again.
