I know, we have many military, police officers, EMS Workers and Firefighters who are on these threads. On behalf of my family, friends and all the people I know in the area of Ground Zero, I want to take the opportunity to thank all of you for your excellent services, sensitivity and sacrifices from the bottom of our hearts.
You've been so unbelievably helpful and supportive working long hours and being in conditions that one's imagination cannot ever envision.
God Bless You and I cannot express the measure of our gratitude for your outstanding service.

followup e-mail
we were the first ones in and if i were a few minutes faster i wouldnt be here now..i met the president and he said he would get the bastards that did this to us..he looked us in the eye and talked like a regular guy not like that retard clinton..

Let's not forget Todd Beamer and the others on United Airlines flight #93 who sacrificed their lives in attempting to stop the terrorists from carrying out their evil deeds . . . perhaps saving the very life of President Bush. I hope Todd Beamer and the other heroic men receive medals of honor for their ultimate sacrifice.
My heartfelt thanks to all the rescue workers at Ground Zero and to The Heroes of flight #93.
Thanks for the flag, KLT.
GOD BLESS AMERICA BUMP!!!

Let's not forget the rescue and cadaver dogs whose loyalty to humanity has given them the determination to proceed with their most unpleasant of tasks despite paws shredded by broken glass and shards of concrete and metal.
In Native American mythology, when the Great Spirit cleft the world, dividing man from the animals, the dog leapt across the great divide to stand with mankind...on 9/11 we were reminded that some humans chose to live as animals.

There are no words to express my admiration for the courage you have shown in facing a scene worse than anything Dante could imagine--day after day--sun-up to sundown. To face horrible death and decay and return a human being is a most faith affirming thing--faith that human beings are the greatest creation in the universe and that we stand upright in the sun rather than cringing in the shadows.
You face down the catastrophe. You face down death. You make us all feel more alive.

God Bless you for the post and the flag. Words cannot express the impressive feats of bravery, heroism and dedication we have all witnessed.
I am so grateful to all of these people for demonstrating to the world what America is all about. What is truly important to our country is now "in our face" thanks to these leaders by examples. These people are the silver lining to this horrific tragedy. This terror has caused us all to love our neighbors and our country more than ever and WE WANT THE WORLD TO KNOW IT!

They are all terrific. I live across the street from the Red Cross disaster service headquarters. These people deserve our prayers as well. I brought over $20 of ice cream last weekend and hope to do the same this weekend (and every weekend). They are here from all over the country.
The women in my office (a few blocks from the WTC) are so excited to see so many manly men in the city as opposed to the pasty faced wimps that are usually around. I remarked (echoing that old song), "It's Raining Men In New York," and all agreed.

God Bless You, and God Bless The Red Cross....At times, they are invaluable. Yes, it was truly raining men, and women.

Thank you for posting this.
I am from 3 generations of NYPD (all now retired) and have never felt prouder of the Brave and Finest of NYC.
When all is said and done there will be so many unknown heroes from this horrendous episode in history. Let us all pray it never happens again.
I no longer live in NYC, but am devastated by the transformed skyline and the pictures I have seen on TV.
while I may not live in NY, DC or PA, the events of 9/11 have had a lasting eeffect on me, as all other Amercians. I do live in the flight path of the choppers that keep arriving with remains from the Pentagon as a continual reminder of the atrocities perpetrated on our great nation.
May God Bless and Keep all those who continue to assist in the aftermath. May God Bless and Keep all those who are and will be doing their duty to protect our shores. And God BLess America.
