Dear Mr. President:
I want to tell you that you have lost my vote in the 2004 election. Though I voted for you in 2000, though I donated to your Victory 2000 campaign, and though I wore your pins and t-shirts, I cannot support you again.
Your diplomatic team, by trying to build a world coalition, has allowed Middle-Eastern and Arab dictatorships to dictate what we can and cannot do to respond to the attacks that took place on September 11. Instead of following the example of Ronald Reagan and basing foreign policy only on what is in the best interests of the United States, you have made concessions to Pakistan and Middle-Eastern countries that will threaten our security for years to come. The coalition has indeed determined the mission, not the other way around.
Specifically, your administration's statement that you will not overthrow the Taliban is unthinkably misguided. To not overthrow the Taliban is to give a feeling of security and power to other states that sponsor terrorism. Not only that, but it makes your statement last Thursday that the Taliban would share in the fate of terrorists an outright lie. One of the reasons I supported you in the 2000 election was that I was sick of being lied to by the Clinton administration. Now I see that you and your team are no different.
Furthermore, the fact that your administration, in an attempt to keep from offending Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, is not concentrating on Iraq as an important link to the Septemeber 11 attacks shows that you are not truly concerned with protecting Americans and ending terrorism. As Colin Powell said, Hussein is indeed the greatest terrorist in the world today. That he had a hand in the attacks on the 11th is not only highly probable, but also fairly obvious. The world can never be safe as long as Saddam Hussein is still in power.
In closing, I would remind you that you have a chance to win back my vote by changing your policy towards terror states and terrorists themselves. Perhaps your team should realize that "it is easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission."

Look at some of our allies in WWII… Like the Russians… We would have been very hard pressed to win that war had Russia sided with Hitler. First problems first.

I was under the impression that mcpain had pretty much sealed his fate with anyone who has any ability to think on their own. He is with out a doubt the most self-serving dunderhead we have on the Repub team. And by the way, none of the current congresscritters are afraid of war. Why should they be? They sure as hell aren't going to go fight and neither will any of their relatives, unless said relative has a pair of his/her own.
Jumping ship now puts you in the 3-4% of Americans in the "disapprove" category.
This country has to clean out the porkbarrel bloated agencies that claim they are here for the national defense. HAHHH!!!
The only kinnd of security they care about is JOB SECURITY...
And you propose finding "him" how?
We put a guy in office to do a job, and you'd rather fire his ass because he hasn't:
- identified exactly who is responsible
- identified exactly where our enemies are (somewhere within, oh, SIXTY countries)
- tracked the leader down in a country where terrain alone defeated a superpower
- killed their leader and destroyed an international network of secretive maniacs who are good enough to keep totally secret a plot to destroy four high-profile targets
- and managed to do all this without murdering millions and hugely pissing off billions and motivating half the countries on the planet to attack us - all who think dying for a cause is a good thing
all within TWO WEEKS?!?

Geez, you read a bunch of leaks in the liberal press and then you form a completed opinion that GWB doesn't have what it takes. Well I read your little tirade and I am certain that you don't have what it takes to form an intelligent opinion. In order to do that you must have an inkling of intelligence.
Nobody knows what GWB is going to do. That, sir, is the way I like it. You formed your opinion based on rumors. Frankly no matter what GWB did in this situation I am sure that you, and people like you, would not be happy.
For me, I appreciate that GWB hasn't gone off the handle and started firing missles. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
