Announcing..."RADIO FREEREPUBLIC"! Starting this Thursday at 6pm Pacific/9pm Eastern!

Thanks to the hard work of members of the FreeRepublic Network, Webcast "RadioFR" will be broadcast every Thursday at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT! Our inaugural show will be rolled out and launched this Thursday, September 27th! "Unspun with AnnaZ" with co-host "Mercuria" will be hosting and discussing pertinent and topical issues with their usual irreverence and wit, and, they will be taking calls from listeners!

In addition, we have shows lined up with hosts CongressmanBillyBob ("Twash and Twiddle" from Free Republic's own CyberCongressman!), Sussa ("On Target with John Bender"...2nd Amendment issues), TLBSHOW ("Leashing the Attack Dogs"...keeping an eye on DNC attack chihuahuas, Registered ("Free Republic's HTML and Graphics Cyber Cafe"), and are reviewing proposals from "Doug From Upland", "IronJack", "TrueBlackMan" and a few others! In the future we are planning on adding features such as interviews, townhalls, remote broadcasts and debates!

To listen to the shows you must have Windows Media Player. We suggest you download the latest version and I've been told there is a version for Mac's. The show host will be posting a notice prior to each broadcast with instructions (basically a couple of clicks!), but, if you don't see it, this is all you have to do to access the shows!

1. Go to http://www.theotherradionetwork.com/pgs/schedule.htm
2. Find the "RadioFR" logo on the schedule and click!
3. Wait for your Windows Media player to come up and FReep while you enjoy the show!

If any FReepers have suggestions, an idea for a segment or guest, or are interested in submitting a proposal for a show of your own, get your ideas together and we will be accepting applications shortly! If you are interested in discussing ideas with segment producers, FReepmail to these people...

Full and open debate, without any political litmus test. Unfortunately, that is not the current climate here. I understand that people say that its private property, and the owner can say and do what he wants...let's just be honest that the debate HERE is not without censorship, and if the radio is the same, I think I'll continue to listen to the local uncensored talk show.

No offense intended, I am just very bored since most of the people I debated and communicated with have been banned, or have stopped posting because of the threads constantly disappearing. The caliber of the remaining threads is so dull, I rarely get to reply #10 before losing interest. It just isn't the same anymore. Rigorous debate no longer exists. Just: "me too" "Rah rah" "cool" "see my neat graphic!" and many veriations of "I love Bush."

No you don't need to haul out a dictionary. I was asking because censorship is different in the medium of a text based forum than censorship on the radio. We won't be deterimining the content of the shows based on their ideological bent. If someone wants to call in and call the host or the guests a series of filthy words, they will get cut off. If you call that censorship then yes, we will not let the participants be abused, and that goes for whoever the guests are, Carl Rove and Pat Buchanan alike (not that either one will be on our radio show anytime soon...) Other than that, I know of no plans to censor anyone as long as they are polite.

I think the indididual show hosts will have a fair amount of latitude on guests. But, they better pull in the ratings...heheh.

You just have to book Hillary as a guest. A lot of us want to ask her some questions!

GL, check out the "debate" feature. If you're so inclined, find an opponent, submit the request and let's party. I would think there would be little reason to "muffle" a debate or a debater. No foul language or smutty themes.
