The events of September 11, HAS TO be terrifying to the ruling elites of Beijing. Let me elaborate PLEASE...Should the US find enough evidence linking the CHI COMMS to this attack they would be ENTIRELY WITHIN THEIR RIGHT TO SO DESTABILIZE the current regime in Beijing that a three way split, if not FOUR WAY split is now inevatible.... with capitols being established around Hong Kong, Szechwuan, Shanghai and maybe even Canton...

Remember when Bush said there will be attack on all fronts??? This COULD be one of them if they ever found the evidence linking Beijing to this Atorcity. of COURSE we would IMMEDIATELY deny ANY involvement as would be the case in PLAUSIBLE denial theory but the Chinese Commies HAVE to be TERRIFIED now...The key will be the Mountainous inner region of China.... WHEN not IF this section of the country splits the Communist party Bureacracy will PANIC... that is a given people

First step would be simple enough. Show Tibet that it has a LEGIT government in exile. and recognize the relations of the former PU Yi(???) as the Legitimate ruler of China... Show the world people that ANYONE who encourages the use of cannibalism. (even on a SMALL scale) like the Chi Comms did in their so called "CULTURAL REVOLUTION" of the late '60s untils the early 70's have NO RIGHT to be called a GOVERNMENT..... such a clique could and would eventually support the freaks of the Taliban AND Bin Laden...hen Recognize Taiwan IMMEDIATELY as the legitamate COUNTRY and grant FULL DIPLOMATIC relations to Taiwan....

Now this is silly, why would the PRC want to encourage fundementalist Islamic terrorism? What's in it for them? considering that they have Islamic terrorism of their own to deal in large swath of western China (Singkang, or Chinese Turksitan) with significant and restless Muslim Hui, Uhiger, Kazhak, Khrighz, and Tadjik population. They have bombed buses and buildings in Beijing and other Chinese cities (although the Chinese state controlled media keep a fairly tight lid on these incidents, they have shoot more then a few Uhigers who were trained by the Talibans and went back to China to continue the Jihad).

Of course, we called them freedom fighters when their target is the PRC.

Islamic insurgency and Muslim grievences are issues the PRC need to address to try to keep that part of China from splitting off along the line of the ex-Soviet Central Asian states. If anything is going to cause PRC to be split up, Islamic fundementalism is likely to be pretty high on the list of contributing causes.
