[history]
What a difference 10 months make. Last November I broke the unwritten rule that requires journalists to be neutral political observers when I got embroiled in the controversy over the presidential election and publicly supported Al Gore.
It was not just with friends that I passionately argued the election had been stolen and that Mr. Gore would be the better president. I was one of the signatories to the pompously titled "Emergency Committee of Concerned Citizens 2000," which took full-page ads in the New York Times demanding a revote in Palm Beach County, Fla. I wrote op-eds for Salon.com and the New York Daily News. On television talk shows from MSNBC to Fox News's popular "The O'Reilly Factor," I made the case for Mr. Gore. In thousands of e-mails, I urged voters to deluge Clay Roberts, director of Florida's Division of Elections, with appeals for a recount.

I broke the unwritten rule that requires journalists to be neutral political observers Nice touch. He opens the essay with a joke. I'm happy that so many people have opened their eyes to see that our Republican President is a good leader and a good man. But it is disturbing to be reminded of how many idiots in the this country push their shopping carts down the aisle and grab all the Democrat merchandize without reading the labels.

Too little, too late, Gerald. Your lot was cast and your public took note. You can't change your bet after the horses leave the gates. Worth repeating.

I think deep down 90% of us liked the "Wanted Dead or Alive" quote and some are just admitting it in a different way.

If one goes to the link posted in the header of this article at the Source line, there is indeed a "respond to this article" click-on opportunity on the right side of that page. Let's do something positive. These journalists need to hear when they do something right (pun sort of intended)!

Bush has done fine, but what remarkable thing has he done? Other than wordsFirst, the right words well-delivered are one of the most crucial duties of a leader, particularly in times of crisis. He educated, inspired and united the American public--a daunting, delicate, and important task. The public mood has surely changed since that speech.
As for the action, hang on---you will not be disappointed. There is no guarantee we will succeed, but I promise you, we will try with every resource at hand. This man does not disappoint.

Well written....I guess some people need proff before believing No, what it took was for these middle-aged adolescents, that have treated their whole lives as one big toga party, to be bitch slapped into the reality that they could actually get hurt or killed. They are thanking whatever God they have that there is a tough and adult administration in charge and NOT one of their soul mates.

The actual quote uses the term "A *foolish* consistency..." Consistency is a good thing when you have the requisite analytical skills, access to information, courage, and character to tell the truth, knowing that it won't please the sophists. Thomas Sowell and Mark Helprin come to mind. As Kipling observed you sometimes have to endure "seeing the truth you've told twisted to make a snare for fools..."

And P.S. I believe we will succeed.

Thanks for standing up and being counted NOW!

Certainly the military will have the leadership, and the vivid images of 6,000 + murdered Americans to motivate them. The Russians never had that motivation, nor did they have our incredible gadgetry. Some of the weapons we have, will shock the world, as they did in the Gulf War.

Wow, a liberal with a mind of his own. Very nice. Good for him. Now, if only Barbara Walters, Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw, and Cupie Couric would find their brains....

Also forgot to mention that I wonder how anyone with half a brain could think that Gore was capable of anything but a prison term - after his involvement with that felonious administration for 8 years!!

Posner has written extensively about the Kennedy Assassination and seems to believe the Warren Commission Report. In my book, this man should never be trusted. He is used as a government shill when it is convenient.

Now how could I have forgotten them.
To: Fury
Posner is just one of many converts I have seen in this last week.....we had a radio host here in Philly who was ripping Bush last week.... make an on air apology and come out in total support of Bush this week.
I've read other similar accounts in the media.
Let's pray Bush and the allies will have success in this war on Bin Laden and terrorism..!
