"But nothing like that baby that kept me trapped at the I-80 underpass near Pierre, SD. That was scary!"Have you ever heard of a venturi? I am sure it was intense.
Advise nowdays is to not try to use underpasses for protection. They tend to channel debris along the increased wind speed currents.

You know your friends are wearing off on you when you post:
Laurel, MD., laurel is Spanish for bay tree; hoja de laurel, bay leaf. Comes from the latin, lauris nobilis = bay tree.
Psalm 37:35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree

Moi......sorry for the confusion.

The bastards have a network of Reich's Cloudbusters set up around D.C.!Just kidding. However, absurd as it sounds, it is entirely possible. The principle works and has been proven to disrupt, even generate weather. Uncle did a black research program on cloudbusters in the late 70's-80's. They were able to produce some devastating weather out at RAF Bentwaters. Of course they deny the existence of any sort of device, but there are folk who can attest to their presence and their effect.

No need for sorry. There was no confusion, your comment sounded like something Condit would say.

Three trailers destroyed 4 trailers heavily damaged, a few houses damaged, no severe injuries. Trailer park area the worst of it
Were any $100 bills seen flying around the area???????

Thanks, useful news posting. Power continues to be out in Laurel as of this writing. (Sigh, how well I know. My boyfriend's mother has *nothing* to do but talk to us on the phone constantly!) hee hee.

It has been pouring rain here (right outside DC in Virginia). We lost power for a few hours earlier. The rain seems to be letting up a bit here, though.

Why do these things ALWAYS find trailer parks?
You can have one trailer park in an entire state, and a tornado will find it.

then the tornado dropped down and knocked the camera out. Just another sign that God doesn't like the news media either.

Didn't it rain though? It rained on me from Lynchburg, Va. all the way home to P.P. W.Va. Nasty driving, especially through W.Va. Through those mountains the clouds are on the ground. Every time I drive I-64 (W.Va. Turnpike), I thank ole PorkBarrel Byrd. It is not easy to build an Interstate highway in W.Va. Deep, dark valleys and steep steep craggy mountains. Mysterious but beautiful. On days like this I can understand why the Indians wouldn't live here. Sorry about all the destruction around D.C. Hope my brother-in-law is o.k. Stay dry, CAL

I hope your brother-in-law is okay, too! It's just about stopped raining here! And just about my bedtime!
Good to see you, Reverend!

Thanks for posting the pics. I took some photos from my office as the funnel cloud passed over the Mall in Washington. I'll post them tomorrow if they turned out okay.
