I'm afraid - please don't remove this post

Posted on 09/24/2001 11:11:46 AM PDT by Scythian

I am a Christian but I am still afraid, especially for my young children. I know that it is difficult to find the US in biblical prophecy, especially in the end times. Could it be that we simply don't exist? I fear that is the answer.

Maybe the beast that rises out of the sea in revelation is not the UN but Terrorism, different from the others beasts is it not? There is no way the US can protect itself from biological, chemical or nuclear weapons, we haven't the will to fight political correctness and evict our enemies.

As terrible as this sounds, I'm afraid, I mean really afraid, it's effecting my ability to concentrate and work. Forgive me for posting this.

What snippy said:

... and greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world...

Lord, we believe; help our unbelief.

Trust Yahweh the Father and His Son Yahshua. If you have faith in Them, then you shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Its not healthy to worry. Relax.

If you read your Bible closely, you'll see that we will not know when the world will end until it is here. If Christ would not reveal the exact time to His apostles, none of us are going to be able to predict it.

Not exactly. Jesus said that we will not know the day or time, but we would know that it is near by the signs. The signs are fairly apparent, to me.

If you think that maybe your life is going down the crapper, then I'd be worried about dying, but if you're living the way Yahweh wants you to, why should you be worried about this?

Are you worried that God might not know what He's doing vis-a-vis the USA?

I'm baffled by Christians who worry about this sort of stuff. Did Paul not say that to live was loss and to die was gain? Why should Christians tremble in fear at death? It has lost its sting. For Pete's sake, our REWARD is losing this life and gaining that one! If you're not looking forward to that, no matter who is the agent of the transition, maybe you should examine the depths of your convictions.

Switch from CNN to FOX and you will see less of the beasts that rise from east Chapiqua.

The same signs were apparent to Paul in his day. He warned the church of that time not to marry for the end-times were upon them. Every generation believed it lived in the end-times. And yet we are still here. My great, great, grandchildren will believe they live in the end-times too. Fear is control.

Operative phrase: "to me." Millions before you have been dead certain that they had identified all the signs. Perhaps millions after you, one hundred years hence, will feel the exact same way.

If Christ had thought it was essential to know the exact time, He would have told us. He told us the signs to let us know what we might have to endure in order to serve Him - not to play Jeanne Dixon.

Your post made me sad and want to cry. I have been afraid too, but am finding myself asking Mary to help me. She always makes me feel better.

It is time to grow up, for your children, and not look for end times to cheer them up! Do not let panic erase your common sense. You are blessed to live in the most powerful, generous, freedom loving nation ever known on the face of the earth. We are the only nation to have "In God We Trust" printed on our money. It is not God who has forsaken us it is the Liberal News Media feeding distortions into your ears for the last quarter century, the church leaders and their guilty paranoia, following the anti american socialists ( as in the Methodist Church funding the returning of Elian to Castro's Cuba) to do harm in the name of God and good. All led by the President (X42) and his demonic entourage.

God is not punishing anyone, we are defending against evil. The world since the beginning of time has always been about good vs. evil. Also, the truth is that good always wins!

All of us are really concerned for the welfare of our families and our country. Teach your children to be strong, to take responsibility for their actions, to treat others as they would want to be treated, but instill confidence above all else, in the wonderful country they live in.

Do not let the visions of the WTC paralize you with fear. Focus instead on all the lives saved (upwards of 27,000) and the heroism exhibited by the people of NYC and around the world. You and your family will survive, closer and stronger if you face up to the demands made on you. Do not search end time prophecies for an answer there are no answers there. The answers to your fear is within you, your belief, your strength and your love and patriotism. Take a deep breath, thank God, have a drink and relax. The sky really is not falling.

I was afraid too. The key is to get out and do something other than watch television. Some posts on FR can have bad effects too, though that doesn't mean I'm for pulling them. Take your kids to the park, or just play games with them. Let them watch their cartoons, and keep away from the news stations. Take a walk and look at all of the American Flags in your neighborhood and take comfort in knowing that your life is in good hands. :)

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

Let anger replace your fear, and you'll feel a whole lot better. Don't worry, dear.

Anybody remember that the world was going to end on Jan 1, 2000. Remember the people who rushed to churches to wail and pray? I know a few who did. And now they think this is the end. tsk-tsk!

First, remember that fear is an offshoot of a feeling of helpless aloneness. Jesus said, "I am with you always, even unto the ends of the earth." As His, you are NEVER alone, you are never out of His sight, you are never abandoned.

Second, let not the call to fear whispered by the evil one drag you away form your joy in salvation, for therein the ecil one is winning, influencing others, casting grave doubt about your salvation into the minds of those not yet saved. They will reason, 'If she fears, what good is her god?' Allowing yourself to dwell on danger that you have absolutley no control over is to allow the evil one and his servants, the terrorists, to accomplish the only thing they can achieve since you've been born into His family ... they seek to remove the joy of your salvation, seek to push you into doubt of His promises.

Third, even Jesus has not been given to know the hour of His return for US. Should we argue with God's timing, whining that we are not ready for His plan, not ready for the savior's return? Never let it be so in your life. On the contrary, live each day in the clear undestanding that the universe runs along God's ultimate timing. What He has planned is soamazing and so glorious, we can't comprehend it in our present state. Since you have children, think for a moment about the absurd notion of retianing those children in the womb and never allow them to be born. The life we now live is the womb of our future release.

Finally, read your scriptures. Read the long and wondrous letter written by Doctor Luke to Theophilus, a Greek, recorded as the Book of Luke, and the Book of The Acts of the Apostles. Then read Thessalonians ... there's a secret snatching away written about in that book that is offered for US to comfort one another, reciting it. God does not lie and He always makes good His promises. If we hold to strongly onto this temporal world, we begin to diminish the great gift of the world to come, the life everlasting, the birthing from this world into a higher dimensional reality we cannot yet sense in our limited state.

LK 20:34 Jesus replied, "The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection. 37 But in the account of the bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord 'the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' 38 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive</font color=red>."
