Since WWII was the last war declared by the US, technically he's right. Still, I hope he's not a history professor.
They have NO clue what a patriot is, nor what our military sacrifices to give us our Freedom and to keep our country safe from harm.
We are not only fighting the enemy outside of America but also the enemy within .
The apathy that has infested America over the years is the main reason why the liberals and their agenda have gotten a strong hold.
YESSS , yes sure do need to keep writing letters , making phone calls , flying the Flag , speaking out and taking names, let them know we are here and their days are numbered. That we are fed up with their destroying America and ouro freedoms.
They are propaganda machines every one of them..... media, teachers telling children to take the flag off their notebooks that it will offend someone. GRRRRRRRRrrrrr !!!!!!
Thank God for the parents that teach their children why they are free, who gave them their freedom and why the fight will never end to keep us Free and to have our Bill of Rights and be able to fly the Flag.
Sorry I went off here, but I have a real ' thang' about the liberals and their agenda. The anit-war idiots that did NOT give us our freedom. The draft dodgers and flag burners.
The War Powers Resolution states that the President's powers as Commander-in-Chief to introduce U.S. forces into hostilities or imminent hostilities are exercised only pursuant to (1) a declaration of war; (2) specific statutory authorization; or (3) a national emergency created by an attack on the United States or its forces. It requires the President in every possible instance to consult with Congress before introducing American armed forces into hostilities or imminent hostilities unless there has been a declaration of war or other specific congressional authorization. It also requires the President to report to Congress any introduction of forces into hostilities or imminent hostilities, Section 4(a)(1); into foreign territory while equipped for combat, Section 4(a)(2); or in numbers which substantially enlarge U.S. forces equipped for combat already in a foreign nation, Section 4(a)(3). Once a report is submitted "or required to be submitted" under Section 4(a)(1), Congress must authorize the use of forces within 60 to 90 days or the forces must be withdrawn. (For additional information, see CRS Report 96-476, The War Powers Resolution: Twenty-Two Years of Experience.) Continue reading this site
Then depending on how strong you are today, you might want to continue here. This explains why we are not calling our armed conflicts "wars". (hint........it has been suspended.)

Here, Hear! True words, Snow Bunny!
We have become a nation that turns our children over and into the hands of the leftist enemy starting at the age of 6 (and many are sent before that , thanks to programs such as "Head Start"---"Head start to what?" they should ask!) Taking our country back or even keeping it from slipping even farther into the mire of socialism must begin in our homes, it is for certain that those in power aren't out to do this!
I truly believe that every homeschooling parent is indeed a soldier in a fight for our country's stability and improvement. I am so proud to see the ranks of the homeshooling families grow each and every year. It may be slow going but the reward of the fruits of these labors will be a steady influx of adults in the future who have NOT been programmed by the left!
I was reading yesterday some articles I HIGHLY recommend, "Peace, False and True" ,and, "War, not 'Crimes'", from the newest issue of National Review (actually a good issue this time, ... so far). An excerpt from the last:
The time has come for a paradigm shift, toward viewing terrorism as a form of warfare. Such a change will have many implications. It means targeting not just those foot soldiers who actually carry out the violence but the organizations and governments that stand behind them. It means relying on armed forces, not policemen, to protect Americans. It means defense overseas rather than in American courtrooms. ....
But it will be worth it, for the safety of Americans depends ultimately not on defense but on offense; on victories not in the courtroom but on the battlefield. ....
To those who say this approach would start a cycle of violence, the answer is obvious: That cycle already exists, as Americans are constantly murdered in acts of terrorism. Further, by baring their teeth, Americans are far more likely to intimidate their enemies than to instigate further violence. Retaliation will reduce violence, not further increase it,....
At first, I questioned some of these points.
If these hijackers, suicide bombers, etc. are willing to give up their lives then what can deter them? Yes, that is a valid question. But that also ignores the facts that these extremists are a very tiny and scattered minority. Network organization gives them strength. BUT....if a full blown retaliation is inacted against not only these footsoldiers, but any and all support they receive, the ranks of new recruits to these extremists' groups will eventually stop!
So far they have not had to face any real consequences so there has been no reason for new people to think twice about joining. Once/If they see that retaliation will be swift and mighty, these would-be recruits will begin having second thoughts and eventually no longer reach the point of extremist because they will not have had the chance to be programmed that way in the relative peace they have enjoyed up to now.
I say this as a veteran and military retiree. I stood in the line to do just this: PROTECT MY COUNTRY (and Her People)! There can be no higher calling for a Warrior. Believe me, the military is ready, and the Country will back them. It is now our survival versus there's.
A CONGREGATION of faithful left-wing fundamentalists descended en masse at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Monday night, to practice one of their most sacred rituals: spewing hatred for America.
"If I were the President I would first apologize to all the widows and orphans, the tortured and the impoverished, and all the millions of other victims of American imperialism. Then . . . I would announce that America's global interventions had come to an end," preached William Blum, author of Rogue State: A Guide to the World's Only Superpower.
"I would then reduce the military budget by at least 90 percent and I would use the savings to pay the reparations to our victims and to increase social services. . ."
Nod, nod, nod clap, clap, clap responded the 700 faculty, students and community members in attendance.
"If one [of the perpetrators] is Osama bin Laden, send the international police for him and pick up Henry Kissinger and Augusto Pinochet on the way home," declared Catherine Lutz, professor of Anthropology.
This recipe for national suicide received boisterous applause from the crowd, who continued to nod, smile, cough, clap... everything but actually think. But none of that mattered at the moment. The crowd obviously liked what they heard.
The UNC Progressive Faculty Network sponsored this "teach-in" on September 17, titled "Understanding the Attack on America: an Alternative View." It provided neither an understanding of the attack nor any surprising sentiments from the left: just the same, tired rhetoric that Campus Leftists have been spouting for years.
The panelists stepped forward with one Anti-American libel after another, almost as if there were a competition among them to see who could hate our country the most. One crowd-pleaser was William Blums jab at Cuban immigrants and Americas relations with them.
"There are few if any nations in the world that have harbored more terrorists than the United States. And one example, the anti-Castro Cubans in Miami, have [performed] hundreds if not thousands of terrorist attacks in the U.S. and Cuba and elsewhere. All kinds of murders and bombings for decades, and they have been harbored here in safety for those decades."
UNC Sociology professor Charlie Kurzman blamed recent events on a Military Industrial Complex.
"We're playing into the hands of our own militarists, whose interests always lie, I believe, in the exaggeration of threats, armed responses, and so on. In fact, I would argue that there is tacit collusion among the militarists of all sides."
Also drawing applause was a diatribe against the perennial scapegoat, the white male of European descent by self-proclaimed Arab-American activist and "person of color," Rania Masri.
"So it seems that simply looking Middle Eastern has become a crime. And this has further fueled the xenophobic sentiment that is taking hold of this country. And I say xenophobic because its not simply Arab-Americans, Muslim-Americans, and Indian-Americans that are being attacked, but also Asian-Americans, Korean-Americans, Chinese-Americans. Anyone who looks different than your typical white man."
The forum hit a new low, however, when panelist Stan Goff equated the terrorist attacks with the German Nazis torching of the Reichstag in 1933.
"The de facto executive branch and the compliant press are putting the historical spotlight right now on December 7, 1941, and Pearl Harbor," said Goff, a disgruntled former U.S. Army Ranger. "I think we need to aim that spotlight at February 27 in 1933 and the Reichstag fire."
The mere fact that the audience clapped and... yes, nodded their heads vigorously in agreement, made it all the more nauseating.
Afterwards a long-haired twenty-something peddled 50-cent copies of the Socialist Worker; and a local left-wing bookshop sold copies of panelists books.
All in all, it was a shameful example of how state-funded universities are responding to the deadliest terror attacks in our nations history.
To paraphrase the great American poet Ezra Pound, "Utopian blindness carried beyond a certain point becomes a public menace, and there is no cure for a sucker." Those 700 people who shook their heads up and down for three hours like baby rattles could do themselves and society an enormous favor: take a break.
